Huge, Fast, Reliable [Posted on 2006-10-04] I recently switched over to shooting RAW (7-9 meg a shot) instead of jpeg (2-4 meg a shot) so I decided to get some extra memory (I already had 1-4Gig and 5-1Gig cards.) I must say, I have not been disappointed. This card is very fast, it out preforms my Ultra IIs and the transfer rate to my computer is amazing when I use this card with the Sandisk Extreme Fire-Wire Reader.
I can put over 1,000 RAW files or about 4,000 jpegs on this card and then transfer them all over to my computer in just a few minutes instead of closer to a half-hour. It seems to average around 1Gig a minute. Using burst mode with my camera has also never been faster, this card writes the images almost instantly, with no noticeable lag time, which means you can basically shoot as fast as you camera can handle and the card will keep up.
I have been using this card for a few months now and have taken several thousand shots with it without any problems. If you have the need and the cash this is a great product.
Just FABULOUS!! [Posted on 2007-05-06] ... just returned from a photo trip to Rome. The card is FABULOUS!! No question, the size and speed make this baby a winner. I also carried a 4G card and both allowed me to shoot as much as I wanted. I transerred files nightly to my laptop and continued my photo journey the following day. I never worried about capacity or speed.
In a word...Amazing [Posted on 2008-02-08] What can be said about this card? That it works flawlessly? That the writing-to-the-CF-card part of digital photography has ceased to exist with it? That I never run out of space for my pictures?
Yes, this can and is being said.
I'm currently using a Canon 30d with this card, and all I can say is that maybe I went a little overboard buying it...It might be on a level with a 1D, but certainly not with a 30d. If you're not an (aspiring) professional, you probably won't need something this fancy. [...]
