Great product, very easy to use. [Posted on 2008-09-17] This is my first MP3 player and its super easy to use. The belt clip is great for jogging. Also its very easy to load music on. I highly recommend this product based on price and preformance :)
Definately a good choice for the younger or less wealthy. [Posted on 2008-09-23] At $35, there really isn't anything wrong that can go with this MP3 player. It is one of the cheapest out there, yet a year later of use, it still works as nice as a charm. It definately isn't as tough as an iPod, but the cheaper price really makes up for it. The only way it could be better is if it held more (you can get a 2Gb or even 4Gb, but this isn't a review for those). One of the main things going for it is the screen, which is rare for MP3 players with the Clip's size and price. I don't know what some people are talking about, but for whatever reason, I just plugged in my Sansa Disk and my computer found the correct drivers for me. Didn't even put a CD in (which by the way, it doesn't come with one since some people were looking for it). It is a Microsoft SurePlay MP3 player, which means that many bigger DRM (excluding Apple's FairPlay) will run without complaining on this. All in all a GREAT player.
Nice little unit for a great price! [Posted on 2008-09-30] This unit is a nice little MP3 player. It has a ton of features including
FM radio
Recording
MP3 Player
Podcasts
So far in the 4 weeks I've had it I've used the unit quite a bit, and it puts out great sound, has a ton of features for the price, and is so small that it competes well with the Ipod shuffle (which I bought it to replace). Unlike the shuffle it has a screen and a ton more features!
The only negatives I've found so far is that the unit does feel a little plasticky and not as solid as some units. Otherwise, it is a great unit for the price and a must buy!
If my mp3 breaks, I'll get one of these [Posted on 2008-10-01] I bought this as a gift for a friend who requested a lower-cost mp3 player. I conditioned the battery for him before I gave it to him (charging to full, then discharging, 3 times). It does take a while to charge, but seemed to hold a charge well.
I loaded some books from audible.com to gauge the listening experience and I was impressed. Unlike many mp3 players (even expensive ones), the Clip kept track of where I left off in every book, so I could be switch back and forth between books without losing my place. I didn't load any music on the Clip, so I can't comment on that listening experience.
The screen was very crisp and readable and makes this a HUGE step up from the Shuffle. The sleep feature is very handy, but every time you turn off the Clip, the setting reverts to the default, which is to have sleep turned off.
I have a Creative Zen, which I love, but if it ever fails me, or if I need an mp3 player to take with me on vacation or something, the Clip is what I'll get.
I'd give it 5 stars if the sleep feature didn't keep resetting itself, and if it charged its battery faster.
Best little MP3 around! [Posted on 2008-10-03] I love my new MP3 player! The Sansa can hold more music that I could ever listen to and, living in a rural area, it can even pick up the local radio station- my regular house radio has problems finding any clear frequencies! Well built, amazing price. I am greatful!
