Excellent MP3 Player for Low Price [Posted on 2008-11-28]
Very pleased with this MP3 player. I perceive the sound to be very good, and better than what my girlfriend's iPod provides. Works seamlessly with Rhapsody, which is a good MP3 music source service. Only minor complaint is the on/off switch is becoming a little bit flaky after a couple of months of use. Don't know if the problem is hardware or firmware related; hopefully I won't need to RMA it soon.

This player is well worth the money. I have owned 2 Creative hard drive players, and one ipod nano. The Sansa has sound comparable to the creatives, which is impressive and surprising, and better sound than the ipod which I thought, like many others, sounded "tinny". It is very easy to load music via Windows Media Player, and I like that I didn't have to add another program onto my computer to use this. I didn't even have to install this, xp did everything for me. I will use this only for music, so cannot review about video or picture viewing capabilities. But the screen is kinda small so I wouldn't use it for watching videos unless you are on a plane or something and want to kill time.
This player has one big "pro" and one big "con" that are exclusive to this unit.
Pro- it records FM, which is a bonus i didn't really expect. And it sounds good. So if there is a news program or a song coming up that you like you can record it and then have it, just like in the old days with cassettes. You have to change the name of the recording on the computer though. It records in WAV.
Con- like someone else said, the scroll wheel limits the searching through all your music to just one speed. So if you have a bunch of titles and want to get to one starting with m or n, it will take a while. Stupid mistake by sansa and the reason this good value player can't get a 5 star from me.
Lastly, i bought the clear plastic case for it and it is still small, like a stack of maybe 15 credit cards. Recommended.

Bought as an early Christmas present for my adult children. They love the features and the ease of use. Only complaint from my daughter is the style of headset which will not stay in her ears. Had to buy a different style that fit down in her ears.

I love my new Sansa Fuze for several reasons. The price was very reasonable, lots less than the big name competitors. It is an 8GB unit and that can be doubled by added in up to an 8GB memory card. It has an FM Radio and has preset station functions. It is small and good looking. Lastly, it works great. I recommend this to anyone looking for performance, adaptability and value.

Would be a great mp3 player but... [Posted on 2008-11-29]
Having had the Sansa e130 I was really looking forward to this mp3 player.
Unfortunately it has 2 problems, one of them sufficient to return it to the store.

First, minor inconvenience, it uses a proprietary cord, instead of a standard usb cord, so...its now one more cord to carry and if something happens to it...you pay.

Second, major problem, this player will NOT be even seen by your computer unless you have Windows Media Player in it (10 or higher to get some MTP somethin or other. It will not act like a flashdrive.

Along with this, of course, is the fact you now cannot also port it into your car stereo or anything else (read "not compatible" by Sansa tech) (makes you wonder if they made some deal with Microsoft).

Frankly I'm not paying $75-100 plus dollars for this.

Its too bad because this would have been a great mp3 player...
