A Great BT Headset [Posted on 2005-12-06] This is my first BT headset, so I can't really compare it with others. When I got it, it was a sweetener to a deal at a kiosk cell phone rep., so I figured it was bottom shelf and didn't expect much.
I was quite wrong. It's very light and has a thin rubbery coating. It stays in place and you don't even know it's there once it's on. The stem is bendable and can me made to fit any ear. It was perfect for me out of the box. It also comes with two other clips that can attach to eyeglasses, instead of sitting around the ear.
The sound quality astonished me. You adjust it from a whisper to a yell. It was quite clear. I have some problems hearing, just minor age/occupational deficits, but the Scala-500 just rang clear. It was kind of nice not asking the person on the other to not have to repeat themselves.
If I lost mine Scala-500, I certainly have to think twice before I replaced it with another model.
I had high hopes.... [Posted on 2006-10-24] After trying many Bluetooth earpieces, I thought I had found a keeper! I had a 5 hour drive ahead of me right after I received it in the mail and was initially impressed - very light, no ear fatigue, sounded good, and no problems pairing with my Blackberry. Unfortunately, their were sound issues on the other end. People told me that the "noise filter" would "turn on and off" during the conversation and that they would miss the beginning of what I would say. I don't have allot of car noise. The interior of my car is exceptionally quiet (Mercedes sedan), and the filter would not provide a steady reduction in "noise", but would turn on and off, resulting in the missed words. They found it very annoying. Alas, my search continues....
Great so far [Posted on 2007-06-18] I got my headset earlier today and so far the product has been great. It was very easy to set up on my Treo 650, the volume is easy to adjust, and everyone I have spoken with says they can hear me loud and clear. I would recommend this product to anyone.
eyeglass adaptable bluetooth [Posted on 2008-06-22] the bluetooth seems to work as advertised. those wearing eyeglasses, will want to try the adapter that eliminates the over the ear loop. however, the adapter is plastic and probably will break easily, hangs from the temple piece and is a little cumbersome. but is the only one of its type that i know of.
Scala 500 Bluetooth headset rocks [Posted on 2008-07-10] I used to have an LG H500(can't quite remember the model number) and used it with my LG Voyager phone and the quality was decent on my end of the conversation but terrible on the other end. So I decided to get something new that the people on the other end can actually hear me. I searched around for a little bit looking at Motorolas and Plantronics among others and found sparkling reviews on this Cardo Scala 500 bluetooth headset. So I took a chance at it even though I've never heard of that company and the so called wind protection but it actually does work great. It actually does have good range away from the handset which was impressive of about 20-25 feet away. That wind protection technology sounded similar to the noise cancelling technology and it does actually work great and can hear clearly while driving around with the window open. As you can tell I've been thoroughly impressed and would recommend this to anyone looking for a very nice quality headset at a very incredibly reasonable price on Amazon.
