For years I've pondered and used different filing techniques. I've always had a concern for fire or theft of my documents. I've had the Xerox Documate 152 for about 6 months now and have, what I believe, to be the perfect filing system. Fist I scan all my documents, including receipts, using the 152 (two buttons... one simplex and one duplex). It's very fast compared to a flatbed scanner and feeder. After the scan the Documate software transfers the scan into Paperport. From Paperport I file my documents into their respective folders. Furthermore I use an online backup service, so my documents are backed-up offsite every night.
Can't say enough about the Documate 152. It's fast, compact and easy to use. By the way all those documents I scan... I shred them! No more manual file folders and safe-deposit box.
