SImply the best [Posted on 2007-07-05] This is a great little treat that has served me well. It is well-designed and executed. I made extensive use of it to jockey large programming packages back and forth from PC to Mac. Like some other owners, I store my cylinder in a colorful Altoids tin. Who said computing can't be fun?
Not relevant for these days [Posted on 2007-07-24] This external storage device was great product before all the mega volumes flash drives arrived. Today, when you can find 4GB USB flash drive in ridiculous prices this product become obsolete.
Crashed more than 3 times! [Posted on 2007-11-18] I have had three of these drives and all three have gone bad. The first I used for approx. 5-6 days before it stopped working. It would light once, then shut off and the drive would start making a clicking sound. I got a replacement from Seagate and that lasted about 2 hours! I sent that one back as well and thought that I'd do it one more time before demanding a refund, well this one worked, sort of... I have been using it for 8-9 Months now with extremely good care and the day before a one of my school finnals papers are due, it crashes AGAIN!
I don't have anything against Seagate. I love there products actually, I got a 160 GB Seagate FreeAgent Go and it is wonderful. Hardware, software, Everything, but when it comes to this Seagate Pocket Drive, I would recommend anyone who doesn't want to loose their data, to steer away from this product. There are much better options to go with now days.
Nice at the time but now outdated. [Posted on 2008-03-06] Have used this for last couple of years without problems. Size, capacity, and speed have been significantly surpassed by the newer USB flash drives, however.
A very practical way to travel with your important data [Posted on 2008-05-02] This 5 GB external hard drive is a sure way to carry your data; with USB connector you don't need to install any software; it is small and portable; a good buy.
