Customer Reviews:

If you're an adventure gamer [Posted on 2007-08-11]
I thoroughly enjoyed this game.
The graphics were slightly disappointing - I'd expected better -
but I found the game absorbing and not too difficult at all.

It was standard adventure game fare - and not bad at that.
I didn't find it boring at all - although it's admittedly not the most exciting game I've played.

I would hope there will be another instalment to continue the story.
I have often found games issued as part of a series often falter and are never carried through to fruition.
I'll be disappointed if there are no more chapters.

I think if you prefer the action orientated type of game it won't be for you.
As with all games - it depends on the type of gamer you are.

Secrets Of Atlantis - WOW! [Posted on 2007-08-18]
What a superb game. I enjoyed it from start to finish.
The graphics, sound effects and music were very well done
as where the puzzles.

My favorites lactations were on the Hindenburg and in Macao.
The ending was great

I hope there is a sequel.

Just Another Puzzle Game [Posted on 2007-09-26]
This game suffers from the same immediate flaw as "Paradise" in that you spend several hours solving meaningless puzzles before the story begins. Of course, there is not much story to begin with. Some people were hired to write code for the puzzles, and someone else was hired to write code to fill in between the puzzles.

After the story finally begins, you solve a puzzle. You walk across the room, you solve a puzzle. You go into the next room, you solve a puzzle. You go downstairs, you solve a puzzle. You are transported to a remote village, you solve a puzzle. You walk across the village square, you solve a puzzle. You walk down the road, you solve a puzzle. You talk to someone, walk up the road, you solve a puzzle. Figure about two hours of actual game play and about some 20 hours of solving puzzles. Those who are not Sudoku addicts should take a pass on that basis alone.

After I solved the absurd Bee puzzle, I realized that I would then have to find and mix a bunch of things and turn various valves on and off. That was it. Even though I was quite close to the end of the game, I really did not care. I could hardly remember what the story was supposed to be.

There is simply too little story here to support the many puzzles. Nothing happens for most of the game because you are always stopping to solve a puzzle. Fans of adventure games should certainly ignore "The Secrets of Atlantis."

Hopefully There is a Sequel [Posted on 2007-11-11]
I enjoyed the graphics, the dialogue, and unique style of illustration. The game was easy to maneuver and the puzzles were challenging. My only disappointment was the ending which didn't provide answers to many of the questions and left you hanging. Maybe because a sequel is planned?

An adventure game of the best kind! [Posted on 2007-12-27]
This is a classical adventure game with a good number of puzzles of various complexities, a strong storyline, much better than average graphic, excellent mood and very good to excellent voice acting. My only problem with the game is the first person setting. In order to avoid dizziness in some players, other games either offer a so called "slide mode" (see Scratches), an option to slow down the mouse sensitivity and with this to reduce the spinning effect on the player, or an option to play it in 3rd person - not too many games offer this most desirable option though -

Despite all the spinning I had to endure, I finished the game because it is just so good. I can see how the Soduku and Texas holding can be a turn off for some, but they fit in the storyline very well and I personally enjoyed both. The story follows the quest for some medals and related objects, in order to find the way to Atlantis. During the course, it brings together 3 special characters with ancient Atlantinean heritage and a "bad guy" for added interest. I do not think that this storyline is any worse than most recent, successful Hollywood adventure movies...; plus it is interactive!

The scenes are: the beautifully rendered Hindenburg, the Empire State Building, Macao, an Indian palace, a Mezopotamian village and an imaginary underground setting, all nicely staged in the 1920s and offering plenty to discover.

I am eagerly waiting for the next installment that is clearly implied with the ending that, BYTW, is satsifying on its own terms. But Dreamcatcher Interactive, please, think about those with motion sickness!
