Fast, very compact [Posted on 2008-03-22] This drive is pre-formatted as NTFS (PS3 owners will need to reformat to FAT32 if they want to use it with the Playstation 3).
Transfer speed is very fast.
Simpletech advertises single click backup... well, if you use the enclosed backup software. There is no physical button on the drive, you click on the software backup button. A little misleading.
The software is O.K., but I uninstalled it. I am using it as drag-N-drop.
Excellent Purchase [Posted on 2008-04-21] I am very pleased with both the service provided and the product itself.
The product arrived earlier than I expected.
And there have been no problems with the hard drive.
Well worth the price to have peace of mind - using it for regular backups.
A home-user review [Posted on 2008-05-04] Awsome device, It stored me all my videos and cartoons, I no longer have to worry about losing my videos anymore! they are now portable with this external hard drive :)
Good HD, but has some issues [Posted on 2008-05-04] I got this external hard drive to store all my pictures on. I didn't want one that had a plug into a power outlet. I thought that this would be a good one, since it was small, but the problem is it takes 2 USB ports to run the HD since it doesn't use a power source. The other issue I had was that it works fine using Windows. However, trying to use it in Linux I had some issues. Probably they could have been resolved, but the Western Digital HD I have just works with no issues, what so ever.
So if you don't mind using two of your USB ports, and you are running Windows, this is a fine external hd. If I had to do it over, I would not buy this brand for me.
