The Sonic Boom Alarm clock is loud, but not that much louder than any other alarm clock on the market. The vibrating plate is pretty intense, especially if you put it directly under your pillow.

i use this on silent with a different sound alarm. the shaking is very confusing as you are trying to wake up. the bed starts shaking and i am fumbling with the wrong alarm clock. it helps get my mind into the AWAKE column because i have to figure out what is going on.

This alarm is so unpleasant I now wake up a few minutes early so I don't have to hear it or feel it vibrate through my 16 inch mattress. It does a wonderful job getting me out of bed each morning.

I have two teenager sons who can sleep through anything. I was telling a friend that I fear for them when they go off to college because to wake them today, I have to literally shake them to know they are awake. That's when she mentioned there really is a product that does that. I figured what have I got to lose.
I was very surprised to find that it really works. My sons like it because it gives them more independence, and I like it because there is a lot less nagging in the mornings. I highly recommend for anyone who has trouble waking someone - this did the job for us.

Works just as described. If you think you can sleep through this alarm think again. It is great for not waking anyone else in the house just the person it is meant to wake.
