DON'T DO IT! [Posted on 2005-11-08] After a little over a year, my PEG-TJ27 is useless. I had to return it to SONY support within 2 months due to screen issues...and that alone was a nightmare trying to get it fixed. The latest is my battery died and I cannot recharge it. I plug it into the cables, and it comes on for about 10 seconds then shuts down and the recharge light is off...will not recharge...
so if you are considering purchasing this (or any SONY PDA for that matter) I suggest you run the other way...
Problems, problems, ... [Posted on 2005-12-16] First I could not sync. Returned the unit to Sony for repair (warranty). Then they forgot to ship the sync cable back with the unit. Now, after the warranty period, the camera on the CliƩ no longer works - a message says "the lens cover is closed" but it is not... So I can't use the camera in the unit any more. I will go back to Palm next time...
BUYER BEWARE! [Posted on 2006-05-22] I purchased my Sony PEG TJ27 and it worked great for the first 6 months then the battery died, then the screen light phased out. What a nightmare, Spend the extra money for a PALM, you'll be much happier.
No support services! - Avoid this Sony product! [Posted on 2007-03-07] My battery was non-servicable after a year. Battery is very difficult to get and change out. No one wants to talk about it ... I thought the COMPAQ PDA I bought was bad! I never expected this level of non-support from SONY. Get a Palm!
Fine PDA for someone who needs electronic dictionaries [Posted on 2008-02-02] I bought the TJ27 refurbished after Sony discontinued it. I use it exclusively for electronic dictionaries and it works very well. The camera is handy but grainy and poor quality. The battery runs down in 2-3 weeks of no use, and then it's a hassle to load back all the software. So I carry it on overseas travel and must remember to charge it even if I don't use it. Ebay has many batteries available, maybe a new one will work better.
