I am using this writer for the past 6 months. I never found a single problem with this writer. I have written many home and backup dvds. The burn process was always successful. For writing 4.7gb with a 4x dvd-r or +r it will just take 12 minutes. For a cd-r or +r it will hardly take 2 minutes. Although it is a little pricey, I am totally satisfied with the accuracy. It is better to put some extra bucks on the writer than wasting time on scrapping your expensive blank dvds.

I think that this drive created exactly 2 readable DVDs during its lifetime, only one of which was readable by any other player.

This drive is bad news. Avoid it.

Fairly good burning speed for both DVD and CD-rom. Not the best but good especially considering cost.

This drive worked beautifully for exactly 13 months. Then, my pc wouldn't recognize it. Reinstalled it, upgraded firmware, but nada. Not a good deal.

I have had my burner for over 2 years and have had no problems. I had it installed by Comp USA and have 0 problems. It Makes great back up copys and perfect cd's. Watching a dvd is no problem. I would recomend this burner to anyone. I have a Gateway 933 p3 and it's a little dated but i have burned over 100 dvds. I LOVE IT!!
