great battery life, [Posted on 2008-06-12] Very long video recording,playing..if you have a this battery you don't need a charger..thank you for all
Charge it and forget it!!!! [Posted on 2008-06-29] I just received this battery that's going in my Sony HDR-SR11 and so far it seems consistent with what others have been saying about this battery... When I initially popped it into the camcorder as soon as it arrived, it showed 2 bars and 75 mins remaining so I left it in the unit and plugged the DC adapter in, to check and see how long it would take until full charge. I was expecting all day but surprisingly it only took around 3 hours until the charge indicator turned off, signaling a full charge. I turned on the camcorder again after unplugging the power and bam! "351 mins remaining" which put a huge grin on my face :D
I have NOT tested the battery to see if it'll really last ~6 hours but the stock battery was pretty accurate so I have no reason to believe this one's any different, hence a 5 star rating. Granted, the battery is a little heavier and does stick out a little more in the back but this doesn't bother me so it's not a negative for me. Amazon shipped it fast (and free!) and it arrived a day early which was a nice surprise!
Note: I see that it also went down in price to just under $100 (it was $5 more when i bought it.) I'd definitely recommend this battery to anyone who wants to just charge it and forget it!
long battery life but bulky [Posted on 2008-07-02] the original battery that come with my camcorder only last 45 min per charge. Got this one to replace the original battery. With full charge I got about 12 hours of record time!! It is VERY bulky although not much of an issue for me because I use the LCD screen when recording vedeo. Good product.
Max Time but with a $$PRICE$$ and weight! [Posted on 2008-07-05] We got this battery because the OEM battery is a joke from SONY. Why would you ship a battery that lasts just over an hour with a 60 GIG HD camcorder? It did cost a pretty penny, but you get 6-10 hours of record and playback time on one charge.
The biggest con is the size and the weight of the battery! I can't even get my eye to the viewfinder because it sticks out so far! A small price to pay when you don't have to worry about the battery going dead.
Overall, I would say that if you are going on vacation and need (or want) a lot of battery life, then this is the one for you. Why go with the mid-range battery when for a couple bucks more you get the monster! For anyone who thinks it is not worth the money, have a battery go dead one time...can't go back and record it later!
Amazing battery life compared to the original battery [Posted on 2008-07-18] I ordered this because a friend recommended I get an extended battery since the battery that came with the SDR-SR11 had about an hour of battery life. This camcorder shows about 350 minutes of recording when I plug in the fully charged NPFH100. I have yet to use down under 200 minutes yet. Hopefully I will get a chance once I am on my vacation.
