Great, Solid and overall complete [Posted on 2003-08-07] I'm a graphic artist who works with many applications open meanwhile listening to streaming music over a cable modem and this desktop doesn't even blink handling all that. The Hyperthreading technology is incredible while the Pentium 2.6 GHz just shoots everything at lightning speed. The only thing I'd change though is getting another video card because the one installed is a shared AGP and the graphics can get chunky and choppy when it's stretched thin. Otherwise solid, solid performance by Sony.
Still going strong! [Posted on 2007-08-27] It's nearing the end of 2007, I've been using this thing every single day since it came out (2003?) and I only reboot it about once a week. Otherwise, it never turns off. All I've done to it is install a second hard drive, bumped the RAM up to 1GB, and upgraded to XP Pro, and I've never had a single problem. NOT ONE! It's never crashed and it has never had any hardware problems. I use it for photo editing, graphics, music creation, digital painting, and other various office tasks. I have about 180 programs installed and it seems to run about as fast as it did the day I bought it. However, I probably wouldn't recommend it for gaming, as the graphics card isn't set up for that. However, in a pinch it has run LoTRO, SWG, CoH, WoW, and EQ2 without many problems as long as the graphics weren't turned up too high. I still run EvE Online at full graphics with minimal lag. It was a great machine in its day.
