Pros: Excellent colors, very good performance
Cons: Battery life not as long as listed,
affordable good quality product. It is very quiet and cool though it has heavy games being run for 4 to 5 hrs. Would pay a bit more to have recovery discs and Word provided with purchase.

I have had this Vaio for 5 months and hadnt any problems until two days ago.. (aside from the quite cheap quality of the keyboard area.. the silver has already scratched off of the mute button and I am not a heavy handed person).... Two days ago I noticed the letter 'j' being repeated on my screen.. anywhere that it can be typed it appeared, as if a ghost was pressing the button!.. that was then accompanied by a consistent bleeping sound- as if buttons were being pressed when they shouldnt have been. I take great care of my Vaio and know that nothing has happened to it.. and understand it must be a hardware problem
SOny have been FANTASTIC (so far!!) dealing with this. their online support didnt work so great as i couldnt chat with the darned J appearing so I called the technical support team... not being too computer literate they took me through various procedures step by step and with the utmost of patience. It turns out that I had to wipe everything off of the hard drive.. ( thankfully I had backed up!)... and do a system recovery.. which even I could handle.. This didnt work.. so SONY are sending out a technician at the beginning of next week to replace the keyboard.. and do a thorough check for me.. NO COMPLAINTS IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. I also had a phone call this morning to double check the service I required and to tell me they would push the service through as I am leaving the country soon..
so yes.. am disappointed that after only 5 monts I have no computer to work from (as a teacher this is a nightmare!).. but I feel very comfortable that it is being taken care of by professionals.
