Customer Reviews:

Size matters. [Posted on 2007-01-11]
This is a great product, as are most of Sony made electronics. The only disappointment I had was the size. It was bigger than I expected, and I had a difficult time finding a laptop bag that wasn't masculine. There just weren't many choices for feminine bags to fit this laptop.

Problem with the monitor flickering on and off [Posted on 2007-07-20]
This laptop is a good choice if you don't have much room in your house and don't plan on carrying a laptop with you all over the place. If you're looking for a notebook that is easy to transport and tough enough to handle the ride, this isn't the notebook for you.
The computer runs most applications pretty quickly. It's a fine machine if you plan on leaving it at home most of the time and don't ever play computer games. I regret buying this notebook because I do enjoy playing computer games and this notebook is unable to play most of the games that have come out in the past year or two and none that are coming out now. It's 3-D graphics accelerator and microprocessor are simply not up to the challenge. It's not a matter of the games running slow--it's that they will not run at all. Also, after only a month of having the computer, the monitor started to flicker on and off if it was bumped very gently in a particular way. I still haven't figured out what exactly triggers this, but it happens every so often, and I just have to restart the computer. I think that's pretty lame for a brand-new computer, especially a SONY.
Next time I'll just get a desktop.

Average and overpriced notebook [Posted on 2007-11-09]
I got this notebook almost a year ago. Although it worked for me but its not that great and perheps the worst model made by Sony. At that time it was very much over priced with respect to its features and still its price is relatively high as compared to similar products from other companies. Performance is good with respect to its specs i.e. Core duo, 1GB RAM etc. Keyboard is not too good, it is just OK. Speakers are worst I have seen in any laptop however if you mostly use headphones then sound card is reasonably good and it should not be a problem. Microphone is absent, which irritated me most becuase always i needed to use external mic for chating.
Handling is also not too good, like a sony product should be. Means overall it was not as per my expectations however it worked for me.

Great Laptop, Works like a charm [Posted on 2008-06-28]
The Sony VAIO VGN-N130G was my first laptop purchase back in April of 2007. I originally purchased it to take care of simple applications such as paying bills and searching the web. When I bought this product it was a simple purchase that would help me get through my military career. Well halfway through my Tech School i decided to get into video gaming on the laptop. The laptop was still relatively new and performed well with games such as WOW and Runescape. I was able to run multiple programs while playing games and searching the internet. A few months back i had dropped the laptop and the screen cover had popped off, i pushed it back on and the computer functioned normally. the only thing that has been a negative on the computer is not the actual hardware or software itself, but the power adapter short circuiting.

Overall a great computer for first time buyers and well worth the cheap price.
