Product does a great job of allowing you to edit and create. Does require some practice, since it does so much. I would recommend Movie Studio 9 to anyone who is serious and would like to be able to do some creative and unique presentations and videos. The Youtube feature is very convenient.

This item , is an Amazing product for video production, it's cheaper than Sony Vegas pro 8, but ya can make almost the same work with vegas movie studio 9, .. so I love the price and the really rush delivery fro Amazon, to my home. It's a GREAT purchase.!!

Good but not great. [Posted on 2008-10-28]
I have used Vegas for sometime now. We recently bought an HD camera, so I decided to buy Vegas Platinum Pro 9.0, because it says it can burn Blu-Ray discs. It can burn Blu-Ray discs, just not menu based Blu-Ray's. That is my big problem with Vegas 9.0. You should spend the extra money and buy Vegas Pro 8.0, so you can utilize DVD Architect 5.0 Pro.

Sony Movie Studio 9 works well [Posted on 2008-11-16]
I use a Canon HG10 which only records in HD using the AVCHD standard. The SW that came doesn't come close to allowing you to do much editing/DVD making. With this camera it is easy to copy the video files from HG10 to my computers HD then I begin using the editing tool.
I compared this to several others you can find on the net: Ulead, Pinnacle, cyberlink and maybe a few others. I can tell you, without a doubt the Sony SW is so much faster. That means I don't need a super powerful computer to do all the editing and making of a DVD. It also doesn't crash like many of the competitor editors. Cost is roughly the same and you have a 30 day trial period. One disadvantage is this SW is a bit more difficult to use--maybe it just has a higher learning curve. Overall I'm very satisified with my purchase.

I purchased this item to work on my own movies and because it has more transitions and events that you can chose from. It took me a bit to get the hang of it but Once I used the tour guide it was easy to continue on my own. Cool software for people who like to make movies of vacations and special events.
