These are nice for me. [Posted on 2008-05-20] My wife and I are getting to the point we don't hear as well as we used to. I bought 2 and with these we can communicate together a lot easier.
When I am at work I can use the amplification feature to communicate with others. These are regular amplifiers in this case, not the selective frequency ones like my hearing aids but for my use I could get by with these for a lot lower price. I usually wear One of these and one of the OTE hearing aids that way I have the best of both worlds.
Everyones needs are different but for me they work great.
So much for high-tech sound processing. [Posted on 2008-05-22] I bought a pair of these for my boyfriend and me and am sending them back.
Pros:
1. The headset fits very comfortably in the ear.
2. Small shape, no persistently blinking indicator light.
Cons:
1. Constant high-pitched squeaks, squeals, pops, crackles and whines. (Both units had the same problem.) For me the problem was much more pronounced than it was for my boyfriend. However, he also could hear it and found it very annoying. It actually hurt my ears.
2. Does not allow initiation of voice-activated dialing.
3. The advertised USB charger was an adaptor for plugging into a computer's USB port. The headset did not itself have a mini-USB port to allow it to be charged from a mini-USB cable.
Not what I expected [Posted on 2008-06-11] Does not work as well as expected. Every person I speak with complains that I sound "far away". I can hear them just fine but they just can't hear me. Environmental mode is irritating at best. The constant open mic sound is bothersome. It does, however fit nicely in the ear and seem fairly comfortable but just not worth the price. I'm going back to the Jawbone.
Sound ok -- earpiece cheesy [Posted on 2008-06-18] The noise canceling feature and volume control works well relative to other bluetooth ear pieces that I've tried. The earpiece is also quite small and lightweight. The issue I have with the product is that in order to get a good fit I need to use the very cheesy and easily broken over the ear piece(which is not pictured). So, this is a good product if the unit fits well without the over the ear piece -- otherwise, I would recommend looking at another product with a better approach to fitting over your ear.
Poor Quality [Posted on 2008-06-19] This product was touted by the local news to be one of the best headsets for a convertible. I find the sound to be tinny and thin and my callers cannot hear me well, either. That was all before evening opening of window. Not Recommended for any purpose.
