I received this item and was disappointed to find that even though the item description says "the Storage Tower can accommodate up to 4 full height optical drives or 5 3.5" hard drives", you can not actually mount 5 3.5" drives without purchasing an extra adapter for an additional $129.
Buyer beware.
Good Storage Solution for the price [Posted on 2008-08-26]
I am pleased with the overall quality and performance of this storage tower. I loaded it up with 4 x 1 TB drives and set it to RAID 5. Performance is OK for this price of a controller, I see around 55MB/sec sustained.
