captivating animal game with great appeal [Posted on 2005-12-02]

I was already familiar with Switch Zoo Deluxe, so it's great to be able to get a boxed CD for my 9 year old niece for Christmas. She has already downloaded the game, and is captivated by it. She plays for hours and writes stories about the animals she made.



Also, my 7th grade English students used Switch Zoo for a writing project, and they loved it and really got involved in the project. I think it's fun, too, and it has a lot of useful information about the animals.

We stumbled across Switchzoo by searching for "imaginary animals" on the Web. My 8 year old daughter was so smitten with the free version that she begged me to upgrade. I complied and do not regret it - money very well spent. She spends a lot of time creating and writing about her animals. This is a girl who loathes writing assignments in school, yet she has written the equivalent to a book about her Switchzoo creations. Also, it has piqued her interest in other issues. Something in Switchzoo led her to do considerable research on Red Pandas and how they are endangered. We are now raising money via a change jar to send in to the Red Panda preservation society. So I highly recommend Switchzoo - it is fun that sparks the imagination, heart, and mind.

My autistic son spends hours on this game making different animals and finds it extremely entertaining (and funny!) It's a pretty simple program to use and helps build imagination skills. I would recommend this product for any child that loves animals.
