Customer Reviews:

too simple to be really useful [Posted on 2007-03-08]
I bought this mobile pocket projector with watching DVD movie and doing power point in mind. But it doesn't work on DVD movie. It shows the frame but no movie or action shown. I have toshiba Portege M205 Laptop computer (Tablet PC) but even toshiba to toshiba it doesn't work. so don't buy it. at least check before you buy, they claim it is not compatable to some computers. buy others.

Tiny, Portable, Quiet, but not the brightest. [Posted on 2007-03-15]
It's SMALL. There's the little picture of it sitting in someone's hand... that's for real. It's dinky. But the compact size has some drawbacks, which I'll get to later.

Portable. Well, it's small, that's all ya need to be portable, right? No, and The TDP-FF1 has you covered. This little puppy will run off of its own battery! Yeah, how cool is that? Plus, it weighs in at one pound. Now that's portable.

Quiet. Ever notice that when you shut off a regular projector, everyone in the room sighs? It's because the damn thing was irritating everyone! Well, this little Toshiba makes less noise than most laptop computers.

Now, don't expect a lot of bells and whistles on this little guy. The lumen rating is a bit on the low side; requiring either a dark room or a high-reflection screen. It does have competent menu choices, including keystone settings, but I haven't found a zoom function yet... is there one?
Anyway, it does come with its own battery pack, wireless remote, carry case and table-top projection screen. (The screen is tiny too, so no real bonus there.) Oh, and don't be suprised at the size of the box that arrives on your doorstep. It's huge because of the foldable screen.

I've watched live tv & played video games on it via the composite video jack, and I've played computer games and watched DVDs on it via the VGA (15-pin) connection. No matter what connection I use, the TDP-FF1 handles everything with ease. I've used it with a Sony VAIO laptop, an Apple iBook/PowerBook/MacBook laptop, a Shuttle XPC Windows-based system, and a Mac Mini; and they've all worked perfectly with it.

Oh, and it has tripod mounting holes in the bottom! That was a quite a bonus for me when found it. (Makes set-up and levelling a snap.) I have yet to test the built in speaker, but that's not an important feature to me.

The only real knocks against it, to me, are the low brightness and the resolution.

The Toshiba TDP-FF1 has a loyal fan here. It's not the best projector on the planet, but if you need something portable and lightweight, it's the obvious choice.
