It works great on my linux and windows vista boxes. Only thing is that when I switch back to the Windows Vista it re-registers the USB keyboard and mouse everytime. This tend to get Vista to get stuck!

Useful product that does what it claims at a decent price [Posted on 2008-05-08]
This is not a review of the video capabilities of this KVM switch. Since my monitor supports dual inputs I did not use the video capabilities.

However, the TRENDnet KVM switch does what it claims, switch my keyboard and mouse between two computers. This is the first KVM switch I've ever owned so I can't compare it to another. It just works. There is software to install and without it the switch did not get recognized immediately. I'm using this between a Windows XP and a Windows Vista computer and it works for both. It actually works better in Vista were the keyboard and mouse are picked up nearly instantly when I hit the button. On an older, slower machine there is a bit of lag time, maybe 15 seconds until the keyboard and mouse are recognized.

Be careful this product only accepts USB keyboards and mice. I also haven't used the audio cabilities, so I can't review.

I purchased this item and it stinks. I went through the trouble of plugging everything in and then it didn't work. The stupid thing would not even receive power to it. When I called technical support all they said was oh return it for am RMA. Waste of time I do not recommend this product at all. Returning to the store.

This KVM switch does what it says. It worked the first time I tried it. The instructions were simple and all cables needed were included. I am using it between my new quad core Vista box and my old P2-400 Win 98 sloth and it works flawlessly.

I definately recommended this anyone who is looking for an inexpensive, simple, reliable KVM switch.
