Ugly [Posted on 2008-05-06]
Ugly bag in person. If I weren't lazy, I'd return it. Kind of small, too (but I'm glad it's not any bigger since I'm not crazy about the way it looks to begin with).

Beautiful, functional, but small for a DSLR [Posted on 2008-05-30]
I would give this bag 5 starts if it weren't for the fact that the description says it's perfect for a DSLR, and it's really a bit small for even a small DSLR. Since Amazon doesn't list the dimensions for this bag, here they are, direct from [...]:

Internal Dimensions: 7¾ W x 3¾ D x 8 H or 20 x 10 x 20 cm
External Dimensions: 10 W x 6 D x 9 H or 25 x 15 x 23 cm

I have an Olympus E-510, and the fit in this bag is a little tighter than I would like. At 3 and 3/4" inches deep (front to back) the bag really isn't large enough to hold a DSLR without the flash shoe snagging on the front of the bag and making it bulge out a bit.

Also, the way the camera rests in the bag, there is no room for a shoulder strap without using up one of the side (internal) lens pockets, or wadding the strap up and putting it in before the camera (under the lens attached to the camera body), which doesn't work with a large lens on the cam. The strap can be folded and put on top of the camera after inserting it in the bag, but this risks scratching the LCD, and makes the bag difficult to close.

I think the bag is worth every penny, but it is better suited for a smaller camera.

**Update: After purchasing the highly reviewed 50mm f/2.0 macro lens for this camera, I am afraid I'll have to sell my bag and find something larger. With any of the 3 lenses (50mm or kit lens) attached, the fit in the bag with the other two lenses stored in the internal pockets is too tight.
This bag is simply not suited for a DSLR camera...not even a smaller 4/3rds format one. If you must, you can get by with this bag with one lens attached and only one stored inside the case, but you'll be sacrificing function for fashion. If Tamrac could just come up with a bag 1" wider and 3/4" deeper (front to back) it would be perfect.

Nice little camera bag [Posted on 2008-06-13]
Initially I wanted a camera bag that doesn't scream "camera bag", not too bulky for travel purposes and holds my Alpha 200 nicely. It turns out slightly bigger than expected but the built quality is very good.

This bag topples to the front when fully loaded. Other than that, I am quite satisfied with this purchase.

scratched my xsi [Posted on 2008-07-15]
bought this based on the quick review that it fits my Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi and it does. however, after two weeks of usage, i noticed a few scratches on the pop up flash part of the xsi body. ignored it the first day as maybe the clip from the bag accidentally nicked it. the second day, the scratch got bigger. the velcro holding the bag's adjustable panels developed into a hard plastic edge and was scrapping the camera body inside the "protective" case as i was carrying it while walking. now my Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi has "battle damage." turned me off tamrac products altogether.

btw, it's not like a little messenger that doesn't look like a camera bag. it's more like a lunch box size thing that still garnered me a "man-purse" comment from people on the street.

Great small dSLR camera bag! [Posted on 2008-08-20]
I got this bag when I purchased my first dSLR because I liked how it didn't look like your typical camera bag. It's similar to a Euro-style messenger bag, and when I recently took it through it's paces in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest I never felt worried that people knew what expensive items lay hidden inside ;) The quality seems top-notch, and the yellow suede accents add a touch of luxury to the bag.

The main compartment comes with cushioned dividers that allow you to make three sections. With some rearraging, I was able to fit my D40, 18-55mm, 55-200mm, and a 50mm prime snugly, but not too tightly. There are also several well-concealed zippered pockets for filters, lens cleaner, or even a wallet or some cash. Everything seems well-cushioned enough that I wouldn't be worried if I dropped it.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with the bag, and I'd recommend it to anyone with a entry-level dSLR camera who wants to carry around 2 or 3 small/medium-sized lenses.
