miserable [Posted on 2008-02-22] The prodact is fine, but the delivery is so bad. It said it would arrive the day after when in fact it arrived a week after. Had I known it's gonna be like that, I would have bought it from Staple because it's roughly the same price. Just a few cents cheaper was worth waiting. I would never order thing like this from Amazon again.
Poor Engineering & Design [Posted on 2008-02-29] This calculator has most of the capabilities for a financial person and it is approved for professional exams, CFA. It has a nice hard cover to protect it as with most TI calcultors, except for TI BAII Plus Professional.
HOWEVER, please do not expect it to be an easy task to change the battery. You can rest assured that your calculator will get ding-ed when it comes time to change your battery.
Also, please don't expect to view the values you have entered for your variables all at once....like how you can see a bunch of values on a regular TI-83/84/89 display, because you just can't on a one line display with this calculator! And everytime you need to do a fresh calculation, it is a pain to have to hit "2nd" + "clear work" before starting because it is set up just the way it is. Aside from being the "approved" calculator you can bring to the exam, it is another piece of junk set to collect dust at the end of the day. The TI BA II Plus Professional is even worse than this; it is almost like you need to apply unimaginable high pressure force to push the buttons on the TI BA II Plus Professional calculator. So save your money and just get this regular one for the exam.
Stick with your regular TI 83/84/89 for all your non-exam use because the Financial Application has all that you need.
Texas calculator [Posted on 2008-03-31] Works well however having trouble figuring out certain functions. Could be more user friendly.
good one [Posted on 2008-04-06] I think i really got a good deal out of this product.
price was really good with a good product support.
Amazon has always been good in delivering quality product at the proper place and also at a proper time.
not as good as its predecessor [Posted on 2008-05-05] No need to repeat the comprehensive reviews already posted. Two comments I wish to add:
1) more buttons, more functions = simple calculations more complicated
2) confusing display. e.g., when you amortize a debt and compute the payment amount, the answer will appear as a NEGATIVE number. (the manual confirms this)
