This is one of the Seasons that I have on DVD and I love it.

Like all the other seasons of "The Dukes of Hazzard" this one is just pure entertainment at its best.These lovable characters with their exiting adventures,that awesome car and the humour make this TV show to something very special.It's a must see.
I only hope that the two reunion movies will also be released on DVD very soon,because I just can't get enough of "The Dukes of Hazzard".
A tip for all people who loves the show as much as I do:If you really are a fan of the original TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard" than go and watch John 'Bo Duke` Schneider`s new movie "Collier & Co - Hot Pursuit" which is currently running in a couple of cinemas for only a short time.It's not called "The Dukes" but it has humour,an awesome '69 Dodge Charger,really hot car stuff,brain and heart and it's entertainment at its best.You'll love it!!!

Best Season Of Dukes! [Posted on 2007-12-12]
I used to be obsessed with this show when I was a kid, and in a lot of ways I still am. But for some shows they either stand the test of time, or they don't. This sadly was one that doesn't really stand the test of time. It comes off as kind of cheesy now, but what they lack in that sense, they definitely make up for in laughs, and in good family fun. There's not many shows today that the whole family can watch. What ever happened to good family shows like Step By Step, Full House, Family Matters, etc? I wish they would come out with more shows that the whole family can watch.

However, I've recently started getting my daughter into this show, and in that sense it is timeless. I have the first 6 seasons, and thus far, this one is the best of the 6. I plan on getting Season 7 whenever I can, but out of the 6, this one hands down is the best storywise. The humour is still there, but they added a more serious element to the show, and kind of washed away the CHEESE factor of previous seasons. What immediately comes to mind is episodes like LuLu is Gone Away, where LuLu gets kidnapped, and it really adds some suspense to the show. I remember one of the best things about the show, wasn't the cheesiness, but the suspenseful episodes, and you would be on the edge of your seat wondering if the Dukes would save the day.

So if you want a more serious dukes season, this is the season for you. It still has all the car chases, as well as the Boss and Rosco goofiness.
The only thing they added is better writing to the episodes themselves. They really create a good conflict in the plot, and make you really want to see the Dukes come out on top, rather than just knowing they will, and not caring.

So I can say without a doubt, this is by far the best season of Dukes yet.

SEASON 6 ROCKS!  [Posted on 2008-08-02]
This 1983-84 Season of The Dukes Of Hazzard was the first full season with Bo and Luke, since their return in the 2nd half of the Dukes 5th Season when the new Dukes(Coy & Vance) departed the show along with the fact that the Dukes 6th Season was also Deputy Enos's(Sonny Shroyer) second season back on The Dukes Of Hazzard as well as the first full season without Deputy Cletus Hogg(Rick Hurst), since his departure in the 1982-83 Season.

This was also the season when THE DUKES OF HAZZARD were able to start getting back on track more since KNIGHT RIDER was no longer interferring with the Dukes time slot on CBS every Friday night, since KNIGHT RIDER wasn't on NBC's Friday night line-up anymore during the Dukes Sixth Season.

Therefore; more people were able to enjoy both THE DUKES OF HAZZARD and KNIGHT RIDER on the same weekends, since KNIGHT RIDER was moved to NBC's Sunday night line-up during KNIGHT RIDER's 2nd Season while THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was still on CBS's Friday night line-up during THE DUKES OF HAZZARD'S 6th Season, which gave people the opportunity to enjoy the General Lee on Friday nights and the Knight 2000 on Sundays, which helped people pay attention to the General Lee again, since KNIGHT RIDER was no longer the hottest car on Friday nights anymore during KNIGHT RIDER's Second Season, since KNIGHT RIDER was on it's Second Season on NBC at the same time THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was in it's Sixth Season on CBS.

Therefore, you could say that the General Lee got to become the hottest car on Friday nights again, since that made KITT the hottest car on Sundays instead even though THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was still getting kind of weak, since the Dukes were still continuing to lose their edge through more popular TV shows like KNIGHT RIDER and THE A-TEAM, especially KNIGHT RIDER since THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was still especially losing a lot of viewers through KNIGHT RIDER, since KITT had outclassed the General along with the fact that KNIGHT RIDER had K.O.'d THE DUKES OF HAZZARD with the ratings.

It was also interesting seeing
-Stepfanie Kramer in the "Undercover Dukes" episode before her co-starring days as detective Sgt. Rick Hunter's partner(Sgt. D.D. McCall) on HUNTER
-Roberta Leighton after her days on YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in the "Play It Again Luke" episode
-Lydia Cornell in the "Undercover Dukes" episode during her co-starring days on TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
-Shanna Reed in the "Lulu's Gone Away" episode before her co-starring days on MAJOR DAD
-Jeffrey Osterhage in the "Play It Again Luke" episode before his days as LAPD detective Sgt. Vic Daniels in THE NEW DRAGNET watching Jeffrey Osterhage(Eddie Lee) getting beat up by Luke in the "Play It Again, Luke" episode
-Richard Moll before his days as baliff(Bull Shannon) on NIGHT COURT
-Hal Williams in the "Cooters Confession" episode before his co-starring days on the sitcom 227
-

In addition to that, I also couldn't help finding it intriguing watching Jeffrey Osterhage in the "Play It Again, Luke" episode on THE DUKES OF HAZZARD before watching him in the "KITT Vs. KARR" episode on KNIGHT RIDER almost a year later after guest starring on THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, since Jeffrey Osterhage drove KARR on KNIGHT RIDER, but was a sharp looking spiffy dressed guy driving a regular car on THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, which seemed kind of like an upgraded guest starring role for Jeffrey Osterhage.

The only thing that really sucked about this DVD and the Dukes 7th Season DVD was it didn't have Closed Captioning in English provided by the DVD in DVD mode, but only provided Closed Captioning in TV mode, unlike Warner Bros. did with the first 5 Seasons of The Dukes Of Hazzard DVD's.

Therefore, it seemed like Warner Bros. got kinda lazy all of the sudden by no longer providing subtitles for DVD mode anymore, which really sucked along with the fact that Universal has always provided Closed Captioning in English for all their DVD's, including every single season of THE ROCKFORD FILES, MIAMI VICE, KNIGHT RIDER, MAGNUM, THE A-TEAM, AIRWOLF, etc., but perhaps that may be due to the fact that Universal is a bigger and better movie corporation than Warner Bros. ever was.

However, since Warner Bros. had provided Closed Captioning in English in both DVD mode and Television mode, I had expected Warner Bros. to provide English subtitles in DVD mode on this DVD and the following Dukes season DVD, but was disappointed when I discovered that Warner Bros. didn't provide English Closed Captioning in DVD mode on the Dukes 6th and 7th Season DVD's, but I do know for a fact that if THE DUKES OF HAZZARD had been a Universal distribution instead of a Warner Bros. distribution, Universal would've more than likely provided Closed Captioning in English for every single DUKES OF HAZZARD season DVD box set, just like Universal did for all 4 seasons of KNIGHT RIDER, all 8 seasons of MAGNUM, P.I.; all 5 seasons of MIAMI VICE, all 5 seasons of THE A-TEAM; all of the first 3 seasons of AIRWOLF; all 6 seasons of THE ROCKFORD FILES; etc.

I also noticed that in the "Lulu's Gone Away" episode towards the end that they had filmed the Duke boys at the "Six Flags Magic Mountain" amusement park in Valencia, since "Magic Mountain" is owned by Warner Bros., since THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was a Warner Bros. distribution, which is why they had to use "Magic Mountain" for a theme park setting instead of "Universal Studios" in Hollywood.

Season Six -Better stories, but seen better days [Posted on 2008-11-30]
After the shake up of the previous season,The Dukes of Hazzard sixth season is a welcome turning point within the series.Unfortunately many were chased off by the previous years changes.
The biggest improvement were the edgier storylines.The "Let's Frame The Dukes" plots still were the norm, but episodes like "Enos Last Chance" and "The Dukes Undercover" showed a maturity within the shows direction (thanks to Tom Wopat and John Schnider's complaints towards weak scripts).
Unfortunately by 1983, shows like The A-Team and Knight Rider stole the Dukes thunder along with the aforementioned Season 5 shakeup.The penultimate season six is worth a look at an underrated chapter of this beloved show.
