This book was ok. [Posted on 2007-10-18] This book was ok. Worth the read and the time it took. But a ton of contributing authors. Not sure if I really like that or not, but it has some valuable lessons/reminders of the obvious. But it's easy to miss the obvious.
Good Book But.... [Posted on 2007-11-12] There are some new ideas and some old approaches written about in The Great Formula. The point is nearly everything got me thinking in new directions. Got my creative juices flowing and I like any book that can do that. This book is a great compilation of basic principles that work. Most of this information can be found in other books, I think it's the presentation that makes it very accessible. I personally like the way Joyner writes: a quick read and to the point.
Some of his guest writers strayed a bit, but in the end they were interesting as well. I am referring directly to a discussion and comparison of magic compared to marketing. It strays from the beaten path but in the end that's what makes it interesting.
All in all, I got a lot out of this book. I think a good deal of the benefits I received come from The Great Formula are because of Joyner's writing style and the way he sets up his information. The book is simple in it's approach; leaving plenty of my brain processing available to think about applying the subjects to my business.
I would give this book 5 stars if there were a few more really new ideas. I recommend this book for anyone in business and I highly recommend this to anyone who is just starting a business.
Great book [Posted on 2007-11-13] Teaches you how to market your stuff. A great book filled with ideas that are not just "fluff", but usable ideas. I have made some real money following this man's advice. I found this book in a used book store and bought it. Since then I have given it as a gift to several people. And IT is THE MANUAL that my business partner and I use to promote our business.
I made a lot of money with this book and so will you.
I read it once a month to keep myself on target with my products and marketing. This book is great.
Excellent and Easy to Apply. [Posted on 2008-01-03] This book states the obvious: 1. Create an Irresistible Offer, 2. Present it to a Thirsty Crowd, 3. Sell them a Second Glass. This last step is known in many circles as an upsell. I had used it a little in my own businesses, but upon finishing the book, I had to ask myself why I wasn't using it more. Mark Joyner points out the statistical and historical reasons why you should, and offers many examples of how this formula has been and can be applied to your own situations. So, for this reason I thoroughly benefitted from the wake-up call this book presented to me - and that is to nurture your existing customers and share with them more of what they came to you to find in the first place.
It's okay [Posted on 2008-04-22] I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did, but in the end, it's just another internet information marketing book. If you read Dan Kennedy, Joe Vitale and others like them, you won't find anything new here. As a matter of fact, Joe Vitale is in this book.
