The Simpsons: A complete guide to our Favorite Family... [Posted on 2003-01-24] Hi, I have the other Simpson episode book, The Simpsons: A complete guide to our Favorite Family,(seasons 1-8), and wrote a review for it. Well, this is just as good, for Seasons 9-10! :) I have looked over every page and still love The Simpsons. This is a must for any Simpson collections or Simpson fans!!
A must own for simpson's fans [Posted on 2003-03-22] Ever wonder what a specfic character's name is, or when a itchy and scratchy first appear? then this and the first edition is a must own!
Seasons 9-10, Complete [Posted on 2003-04-03] The first book covers seasons 1-8. This book only covers two seasons: 9 and 10. Each episode gets a two page spread, while many of the episodes in the first book only had one page. This allows far greater detail to be covered. I keep all (currently) three books near the TV, and I'll review the pages for each episode before I watch the rerun. In doing so, it opens my eyes to a lot of the little details that I missed the first fifty times I saw the episode. Essentially, this is the owners manual for seasons 9 and 10.
As the cover says, a complete guide...continued... [Posted on 2005-07-14] THE SIMPSONS FOREVER! A COMPLETE GUIDE TO OUR FAVORITE FAMILY...CONTINUED is probably the best book on the Simpsons that I've read, along with THE SIMPSONS: A COMPLETE GUIDE TO OUR FAVORITE FAMILY. It includes, and I am taking this right from the cover, more characters, episodes, and secret jokes you might have missed from seasons 9 and 10...and then some! The book was created by Matt Groening and edited by Scott M. Gimple. It details each episode and even has extras: Do The Bartman; Deep, Deep Trouble; A Tribute to Troy McClure; Homer Says; Couch Gags; Who Does What Voice; and Songs Sung Simpson.
The book's dedication even reads:
TO THE LOVING MEMORY OF
SNOWBALL I:
YOU MAY BE GONE, BUT WE
ARE STILL FINDING YOUR HAIRBALLS
IN THE CLOSET.
My favorite sayings in the book are both on p. 33, "This Little Wiggy":
MARGE: Bart, it's too nice a day to leave Ralph in a closet. You boys should go play outside.
BART: But people will see me paired up with a doofus. You have no idea what that's like.
(Just then, a saw pops up out of the floor between Marge and Bart. It saws a circle, and Homer's head pops out of the floor.)
HOMER: Uh-oh.
(He pops back down.)
(Bart and Ralph open a door marked, "Danger--No Entry." They gasp, discovering an electric chair.)
BART: Whoa, mama! The electric chair! Smell that, Ralph? That's the smell of justice.
RALPH: Smells like hot dogs.
I definetly reccomend purchasing this book.
Good Source for Seasons 9 & 10 [Posted on 2005-11-06] This book is one in a continuing series of reference for the show. In particular, this book deals with episodes from the ninth and tenth seasons of the "Simpsons." Here, we are given summaries of each episode, as well as the chalkboard and couch gags that came along, and interesting trivia about the episodes. If you own the first one (which I suggest you should, if you don't already)), I would definitely recommend this book, as well as to any person who loves the show.
