OFB is the best one out of all seven! [Posted on 2008-03-28]
after reading all the reviews online, i bought... every expansion pack for the Sims 2 (over the course of several months)I have to say, this is the best one in the whole series! its kinda challenging, but once you start to get rank your business grows and its sooooo much fun and worth the effor. If you dont feel like going to your business one day, just don't go. I would suggest locking your front door (except when you invite friends over and then making a second floor or seperate building for a home business because you will be very aggravated with the loading times if you have a off site community lot. Also, if you two members of the family, your shop can stary open 24/7 if you have then take shifts becuase the downside is that your sims needs decay very quickly (especially hunger, energy, and hygiene) so they will have to leave an offsite business lot after a couple hours. The best addition, is the talent badges, which are more fun to gain than job skill points.
New Additions include-
*makeover chairs -open a salon!
*talent badges (stock shelfsefficiantly or craft objects like Servo)
*also new roofs, awnings and elevators (woo-hoo able of course)
Its jusst so rich and deep and sooo much fun and because you can seel virtually anything, you never get tired of it!
the only downside is that your sims life, unless you run a family business, will be taken over by running a store. but thats the price to pay for the best expansion pack of the sims 2 series!
(lets face it, seasons didnt really add anything except snow. I know thats oversimplifying it, but come on, its not that great.)
Expansion Pack adds new aspects of playability [Posted on 2008-05-15] Found this expansion pack to be useless. I almost never have a business. I find them tedious and boring to play. Unless I cheat with Sim Modder, there's no way to keep the employees happy enough to stay at work long enough to make it worth changing zones for the drive to the business site. And home based businesses, forget it! Too many people traipsing in and out of the house and if you lock the doors, you have to unlock it for each visitor. Bleh.
Its pretty fun.. [Posted on 2008-05-22] Starters...the game is eh...fun..ish? But it is so hard to run a business; specifically a restaurant business or bakery (or maybe it is just hard for me..only).. The customers are so damn picky and nag whenever the slightest little thing bad happens to them...uh? get over it please, this is hard. If you are doing too many screw ups, you lose customer loyalties and its difficult to get to the next rank. so you need to keep them happy..kinda hard..On a brighter note, i did create a little toy shop and i am currently rank 8, running the whole thing by myself. owning shops in general is really fun, and much easier to do if its spaced well, and not too big. very fun. but after a while it can get a little boring..after making a lot of shops, dance clubs, bakeries..its like..Okay...now what do i do? I guess if you have the pets ep then you will have another business to run..but after a while you get sick of it.The robots are a cool addition. they can clean, cook and fix things for you. To have them you need to buy a robot machine and make a lot of little robots before you move on to the really advanced ones. if you are skilled enough, you can make some and put it in a shop :) I would recommend buying the seasons expansion pack first though maybe, then pets, then open for business.
Best Expansion [Posted on 2008-06-12] Open for Business and University are the two most fun expansions to The Sims 2 world that have come out.
With this package, you can buy a business, build just about any business that you want, train employees, make your own stuff to sell, work from home, create a home business, buy more community property, and do just about anything which is great. Once you own a business and start making money, you can quit your job also and just focus on your business. Then you can hire a person, train them, and make them a manager and the best part about tat is that then you do not have to go to work almost ever, just call and collect profits.
If I had The Sims 2 and only one choice of expansion, this would be it with University right behind it. Also, this adds on to you system with almost no lag time to startup of the game or anything. It also adds a new district to your city, but you don't have to use it at all if you do not want. You can do everything from whichever town you live in if you would like.
Awesome.
It's fun but there's parts I don't like [Posted on 2008-06-17] I love the game it's fun managing your own business but I don't like it when it's a communtity lot you leave at noon and you leave your business at 9 pm and you go back and it's noon and your tired and it throws everything out of whack...but I guess it's the only way to do it. I enjoy it but personally I don't use it much
