Customer Reviews:

A great first joystick [Posted on 2001-03-20]
This joystick works on macs and pc's. I bought mine 4 mech warrior 4 and it has all u need. The fox2 has plenty of buttons 4 most games, a throttle, and a twist mechanism so u can blow those annoying osirises next to u while still going foreward.

Power & Quality with minimal price [Posted on 2001-12-17]
I owned an older Thrustmaster model joystick and was always happy with the quality and durability.
This new model only improves on the predecessors. Easy configuration, reasonable price, and material/stick feels substantial and not as cheap as the latest Logitech and Micorosft sticks seem to feel.
Only drawback, when using rudder controls in Mech need to figure how to use rudder as opposite direction of torso twist. For Crimson Skies, etc., excellent!
Excellent control and love every move I've played with it.

If your games demand precision, pass on this product [Posted on 2002-07-11]
I can't complain much since I bought this joystick for relatveley cheap...
The joystick offers a full set of buttons, so there shouldn't be much of a problem in that respect. It it also the only joystick to my knowledge that offers a "resistance" knob, to lessen or increase joystick resistance. I can't complain much about the feel of the joystick, since it has a stable base and a hand rest.
At first, the joystick worked well. All the buttons worked, the joystick centered correctly, and I didn't need any dead-zone.
However, within two weeks, my dead-zone was at 15% since the joystick no longer recentered, and it had to be recalibrated daily (not that this helped much.) Also, the buttons no longer popped back up, so 2 out of the 7 buttons are now pretty much useless.
Thrustmaster doesn't really offer any support for these problems, so I'm stuck with a defunct joystick right now. Unfortunately, the competition looks pricey and at times doesn't seem much better. I think I'm going to go with a Saitek though.
All in all, it's a pretty good joystick if your game doesn't require precision. It has many features (such as throttle, twist, etc) although they don't always work unfortunately. If you're looking for a cheap joystick with all the functions and buttons, then this joystick is probably a good choice for you.

BAD SOFTWARE [Posted on 2003-03-28]
Well it worked fine at first, then I had some system problems and have not been able to use it since! that was 4 years ago! the software [is bad] and so does the sapport, they even sent me a new stick wich of course did not fix the problem and then they never got back to me to resolve the problem, I have tried everything to get this thing to work, downloaded the new software, reinstalled the software, went from usb to standard game port, still does not work, in my diagnostic x tools it shows everything ok, but when I go to control panel and bring up game controlers it say's it is installed but not connected, what a bummer, I really loved the stick when it worked, it had good action and was really happy with it, but for the most part it just collects dust on top of my desk now, and I paid way to much for it! take my advice and look for something else that is not sapported out of canada...

I've had more stability with a $10 joystick [Posted on 2003-10-01]
The only redeeming parts of this joystick is that it has a rudder control built right into the stick itself and the joystick resistance knob underneath the base. The joystick is very unstable. In the "Top Gun Fox 2 Pro properties", you can see the red lines move up and down without you even touching the joystick. I'd rather keep using my old "Thrustmaster Top Gun USB Version" than this one with all the cooler features. The TTGUV is much tighter and has a lot more stability.
