iTUNES SAVIOUR! [Posted on 2007-10-13] My laptop restored itself because there was too much gunk on my hard drive. I was devasted to lose everything that I had in my iTunes library....songs, videos, favorite podcasts....all gone. Not to mention the time and money that I had put into creating my library.
I purchased this software from Amazon. I am not a computer guru, so I was glad that the instructions were very simple. Within minutes my library was transferred from my iPod back into my iTunes library!
Tune Transfer didn't work for me [Posted on 2007-12-18] I ordered this after my hard drive crashed, it did NOT work for my daughters Ipod Nano, I sent it back and got Copypod instead and it worked!
CopyPod/CopyTrans is an amazing program! [Posted on 2008-01-19] I agree with what everyone else said about CopyPod. It's been renamed as CopyTrans, but it's still the same program. I'm not computer saavy and I was panicked when my hard drive crashed. I just used the CopyTrans program and it was so easy. I started it, it told me to plug in the iPod, I clicked one button and it did EVERYTHING, including re-importing it to iTunes. Go with CopyTrans if you have to save your iPod. It's amazing.
Terrible product and customer service [Posted on 2008-03-10] This product did not work (apparently they sent a later version) and when I contacted Valusoft to get the appropriate version mailed, they never sent it. Still trying to get it (months later).
Be Careful: itunes newest version disables TuneTransfer(?) [Posted on 2008-07-21] I would recommend buying the very latest ipod transfer software - not TuneTransfer.
I bought a used CD-ROM in July 2008, originally released 2006; but when I downloaded it into two separate PCs, neither failed to detect an ipod attached (even when I changed itunes settings to allow disk usage).
This tells me perhaps the latest version of itunes disables this software to detect the ipod, when attached - thus, not allowing transfer of songs.
...If itunes really wanted ipod memory to be transferrable, they would allow it. What they DON'T want is for songs purchased from itunes to be transferrable to any other computer, which could diminish download sales.
