After a weekend of frustration trying to use the built in sound on my new ...,.@#@^$%& mobo i finally broke down and purchased this Turtle Beach product. My experiences with other sound card
manufacturers were OK, but since i just wanted sound for basic games and video , i thought , "why not?"
The card installed without a problem, provides great sound, a joystick port and MIDI in interface (cable not provided).
A great value sound card that performs like it cost alot more.

I purchased this card for the purpose of passing through Dolby Digital from my Home Theater PC to my external Sony amplifier. I could never get anything but 2 channel stereo to work. I spent weeks trying different decoders and software to no avail. This card is an OEM product. Although not stated, there is no warranty and it is not supported by Turtle Beach. You are on your own using it. I eventually learned the card by design DOES NOT pass through Dolby Digital as advertised but instead down converts it to 2 channel PCM.
I replaced the card with a different brand and it worked immediately without any effort other than selecting S/PDIF output.

I got an Creative XFi for my new computer that I build (this was few months ago) but Creative doesn't have any support for Linux (I use Ubuntu), so I promptly returned the card. After months of using the on-board sound card (it was ok not that great) I decided to buy a new sound card. After a bit of research I decided to buy the Turtle Beach Riviera. Let me tell you it has been my best choice for a sound card. Installed the card into my computer and booted into Ubuntu and everything was setup already without any input from me. I had beautiful sound and my music, movies, and anime never sounded better. I high recommend this sound card.
