I wanted a phone that had a clean and minimalist design/look, wouldn't interfere with either of my wireless networks (I have both a 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wireless network running in my apartment), good range and call clarity.

Right now, I'm approximately 3 feet from the base, with the handset in my hand, and it's telling me that I'm out of range? The battery is fully charged - I haven't even called anyone yet!

I was thinking that I may have gotten a dud, though, some other reviewers from a competitor's website are reporting the same issue. This is going back, first thing, next week.

Single worst Uniden phone system I've owned. The handsets constant drop "Out of Range". It even did so when the handset was literally 3 inches from the base unit. I wish I had purchased somewhere I could easily return them...that will teach me to not wait for them to appear on Amazon.

I have only had this phone for one day so things may change but.... I got this as my old phone started to get a LOT of static on it. I have , so far, no problem with it. I do have a large open great/living room that opens to the kitchen so I have the main base in the kitchen where one of the only phone outlets are, and the other one beside my chair (where most of the time I call from) in the living room. We have no walls, etc between any of them so that may be why I have no problems. I like bells and whistles and this phone has them! I set up the one phone for time,etc. and the other handset was auto set. *smile* I like very much I can set the answer machine so that no one can hear what is being said (i like to use the headseat for that..another thing that i wanted and this phone hase.) So far so good...if anything goes wrong down the line, I will edit this and tell what went wrong.

It has been many years since I had purchased a cordless phone. The sound quality of this phone is no different than a wired phone. All of the features seem to work well. It is thin though and it is hard to hold it with your shoulder.

This is a really nice cordless phone. I think the design blows away anything else that is out there on the market right now from other leading brands like Panasonic, GE, etc.

A couple of things I didn't like: the time format cannot be set to 24H, only 12H. It does not have a setting for line dialout # (i.e. if you always need to dial a "9" to get an outside line), nor is there anything explained in the manual about how to insert a pause between numbers.

It is a sleek-looking unit, has good sound quality, and I like the simple, unconfused base which has a prominent display of the number of messages.

The setup/configuration menus are straightforward. Wish it had a higher amount of overall greeting time but I doubt I'll ever max it out.

I'd say this is probably one of the best cordless phones on the market today, definitely the coolest looking if you're into cool factor, and worth getting. Consumer Reports usually gives high ratings to Uniden phones for their quality and features.
