V-smile for 12+months [Posted on 2007-12-13] We bought this for my son's first birthday. I was worried that it would get forgotten about, but out of the blue we find him walking over to it and climbing on. It is a dependable toy that he never gets bored of, nor is he obsessed with it. The rocker setting is not the best, he cannot climb onto it as it is unstable in rocker mode. I just keep the wheels on the floor all the time. I am a lot more satisfied with it than I thought that I would be, and it is much better than other ride-ons (my son won't even sit on them). I would stress that it will only get much use once your child has mastered walking and is working on climbing. It does seem more complex to get on and off of on their own. The style of the one that I bought is updated and looks more comfortable and thought out than the model pictured. Highly Recommended if your little boy loves cars and needs a ride-on!
a baby/toddlerhit [Posted on 2007-12-30] Got this when baby was only 6 months old. He played with the steering wheel part on the floor. IT kept him occupied for at least a half an hour or more. When he started to pull up, he then used the scooter part as a prop to start walking. He just reversed the wheels and used it as a push cart. Though not its intended use, he learned to walk with this toy. He would walk up and down the hall all day long! Now that he is an experienced walker, the steering wheel is attached to the scooter and he can sit on it and play with the dash. However, the wheels do not turn smoothly, and he does not use it as a ride on. He still pushes it around as a cart. When he has friends over, he will give them rides. Endless entertainment and educational value.
Awesome [Posted on 2008-01-29] My 7-month old loves this. All he uses so far is the "busy box"/dashboard (which is all I let him use!), but it's already a hit. It has so many different features that it keeps his interest and has educational value as well!
It was a hit with our 1-year-old grandson! [Posted on 2008-02-18] We bought this for a grandson's first birthday, and he loves it. He played with it almost exclusively for the three days we were visiting. We set it up in "Rocker" mode since his feet didn't quite reach the ground. He loves to push the buttons and pull the levers. I was thoroughly impressed by all the things it can do! And I enjoy knowing it will grow with him. In a few months, he'll be using it in "Ride-On" mode.
Great toy! [Posted on 2008-07-13] I searched on the internet for my son's first riding toy for Christmas. He was 10 months at the time. Ratings were good so I looked at the actual product in a local store. On first glance in the box it looked cheap. Decided not to get it. Out of despiration closer to Christmas I bought it and I am soooo glad I did. It is a great toy!!! As from previous reviews, when it is in the riding mode, it doesn't function well with rolling. However, when the bottom is converted in the rocking mode, my son sat and played for long periods of time. He couldn't walk by it without sitting on it even for a few seconds. As for construction, toys for this age group are grosely over priced. You are getting what you pay for and construction was very acceptable for age range. After just a few trys my 10 month old was able to get on and off without any problem. Had more functions than I realized when making the decision to buy. I would buy again and recommend to others!
