This is a very good toy overall. What I like the most is that the sound coming out of it is very clear, not mumbling like a lot of other toys we own. Batteries are included and installed already, a nice touch by the manufacturer.

It's hard to get past the fact that the singing audio is REALLY flat as compared to the background audio. It's extremely annoying. Unless you're tonedeaf, then this toy will drive you crazy. Despite the good qualities, this is something I can't get past.
He just doen't play with this toy [Posted on 2007-09-08]
My grandson (9 month old now) uses this toy to turn upside down and stand on, in his play pen. He never really played with it, no matter how much I did and tried to get him to watch and play. I think the sounds are fine and each section or animal, has something different to do and learn. He just doesn't seem to be interested. I have a lot of V Tech toys and this is one of his least favorite. I think it would depend on the type of toys your baby likes. The toy is rugged enough. It takes some doing to get the cat and dog sounds to work (you have to side a door from right to left for each and it's a little hard, even for me), and the pop up... what ever it is, has to be pushed down before it will pop up again, which I try to show him. The bird is the only part that is easy to play with, just pull the flower and the bird sings.

This was gift from grandma when my baby turned one. The bright color and cheerful animals attracted his attention right away. This is one of his favorite infant toys. He loves to hear the silly sounds and fun phrases. His favorite button is the ripe apple with ABCs. This toy has great voice and music sound. Highly recommend for a baby shower gift.
Only if you're tone deaf [Posted on 2007-11-26]
If you have any ear for music, run away from this toy. The recording of robotic-sounding children sing in a completely different key than the accompanying music. It is like fingernails on a blackboard. And the language is very stilted, as if it was electronically translated from another language. Just horrible. Horrible and inane.
