Perfect screen [Posted on 2007-09-13] No problems whatsoever with dead pixels. The only thing I notice, and thats only when I really look for it, is when the comp. is starting up and the random times the screen is black, I can see a little bit of a dim white hew around the corners of the screen. But when anything else is on the screen, it looks perfect!
I like it [Posted on 2007-09-13] Initially I bought five of these monitors for a flight simulator I assembled based on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. I've been very happy with these monitors. I can't see any brightness or color variation among them (when their settings are the same, of course), and I've seen no dead pixels, so ViewSonic's quality control has been good in my experience.
I should mention that I'm not really pushing the outside of the performance envelope of these monitors. That is, I don't need a really high horizontal or vertical viewing angle, and the frame rate of my flight simulator is less than 30 frames per second, so far less than the monitor is capable of. And, although I liked the bases that came with these monitors, I don't use them because I mounted the monitors to double and triple monitor stands I got from Ergotron and MOView (incidentally, the MOView MVTMS stand is not good). So, I can't comment on how these monitors would perform in a more demanding application, but I can say they're working perfectly for me and I love 'em.
Based on my level of satisfaction with these monitors in my flight simulator, I bought three more for use with my desktop PC not associated with my flight simulator. I've been very happy with them in this application as well - again, good quality control from ViewSonic, and very attractively priced for the size and features.
Terrific Monitor [Posted on 2007-11-04] This is a great monitor for gamers and non-gamers as well. Crisp image and easy to setup. The instruction manual is easy to read as everything in the box is what you need. No surprises, no problems. The drivers are easy to get off Viewsonics website and I couldn't be any happier. This monitor is a energy star product. To me this isnt a minus but if you want to adjust the monitor on it's stand, it only goes up and down (how the monitor faces...not its height which is fixed). But anyway, It's height, and how it sits on its stand is perfect to me, I havent needed to adjust it. Anyone looking for a good nicely priced LCD monitor for gaming and non-gaming, this is a great monitor.
Good so far [Posted on 2007-11-26] Decent monitor so far. No dead pixels upon delivery. I can't see any major differences in playing COD4 so far, and my old monitor was a 19" CRT.
uhhmmm [Posted on 2008-01-08] well, I received the monitor in a timely fashion and plugged it in and it did not work..... forcing me to return the product, so I guess I have no idea how well the monitor performs. ViewSonic VX922 19" LCD Monitor
