X1300 will not install with Windows Vista correctly... [Posted on 2007-02-07]
Tried to install this card with windows vista....received a blue screen about 3/4 of the way thru stating that the drivers are not compatible with vista...had to remove the card...put my old card in. Vista installed fine, then tried to install the card again....it installed ok with the built in windows drivers for this card. Downloaded the new 7.1 catylist driver from the ati website....installed it...the card works fine except the Aero Glass does not work as promised on the box.

I've had so many issues with this card because of the drivers. I had to reinstall the drivers because the control center (the software to change the settings) would not appear in the system tray. I'm having that issue right now. Also, if you're a hard core gamer you can play it on medium settings. I purchased this card from Circuit City, which was a big mistake because they charged me $180 dollars a year ago. It's selling for a little over $100 right now. The card has some flickering problems and the frame rates are not constant. I'm okay with the fact I have to play it at a lower setting; however, I would like it to remain smooth. It's not a sturdy graphic card, and never will be. So just don't buy this card if you plan to play the newer games. If you want to spend less, then buy this card. I'm not sure how the 1600-1900 cards are. If you buy a graphics card, purchase one that you can keep for a while without having to upgrade. Nvidia, I hear are really good about their frame rates, so I'm going to try them. ATI is really good about support, but Visiontek released this card so...I wish you the best of luck.

I'm playing Lord of the Rings Online at medium quality and I get slow frame rates every now and then.

I bought this 6 months ago. Black screen. Nothing would make it work (windows XP). I called tech support and they said it wouldn't work with XP without a factory adjustment and that I had to send it back. I did. 4 months later when I hadn't heard a peep from them (almost forgot about it), I contacted them and asked where it was. They said they never got it. I sent them the tracking info showing that not only had they received it, but someone signed for it. They replied that they would send it to me right away. Two days later, I got it. Black screen. Now I'm online trying to find out how to get this dud to work. What a colossal waste of time.

Video Card Installed with No Problems on a Dell [Posted on 2008-06-24]
I installed my VisonTek X1300 512 MB AGP video card on a Dell Dimension 4600 running Windows XP Pro with a Dell 24 inch monitor using the DVI connectors. I had a prior ATI card and removed the old video drivers per the instructions. I then went to VisionTek website and downloaded both drivers for the X1300 cards and ran the install from the site. I did not use the CD that came with the video card. Restarted the computer and everything worked fine. No problem changing the resolution from the system tray either!!!
