Overall, I was pretty impressed with what Webroot offered in their SpySweeper program. It had some nice features to go along with keeping spyware and ad's undercontrol (ad-blocker). The older build of the software program operated the same when you upgrade to the newest build. The program would always alert you when there was a potential risk of spyware and would constantly monitor your internet traffic for risks. One thing I didn't like about the program was the fact that is was a bit of a resource hog. I've got a decent amount of RAM in my system, but it bogged things down in a sense...My mistake though in the end, cause I also used Norton alongside it, so that was probably why, but I had to reformat one time and put SpySweeper on my system first and it still took up quite a bit of resources. To conclude, SpySweeper is a reliable program that will protect against threats of spyware and I'm sure the program will get better over the years.

I was shocked when someone had cracked my password for my counter strike and online bank account login. I had always been reluctant to buy any anti spy software because I thought it was a waste of my money. Boy, was I wrong, all that downloading had given me a keylogger where someone was able to access my account from GOD knows where. After this tragedy, I decided it was time to do some anti spyware research. After spending numerous hours I found webroot spyware 5.2 to be the answer. It doesn't slow my computer down like a lot of people have said, honestly, if you have an old piece of ****, its time to get a new computer and you can buy a new one for like $400 bucks these days. And if you call them, and tell them to give you a $10 dollar off because you had an coupon code that didn't work at there website, THEY GIVE IT TO YOU..wholly molly, I bought my for $19.95 =) I just download the software and enter my license file and BANG! Today as I was browsing website, I can tell you that it WORKS, i purposely went into Porno website and it blocked off all the damn popups.

To any interested parties - a downloaded copy of WEBROOT SPY SWEEPER has caused constant problems with my machine.
I am kept running with outside business interests and don't have time to stay up to date on the latest computer issues. On Jul 22 07 I downloaded Spy Sweeper and within a few weeks began experiencing occasional lock-ups when starting my computer. These gradually increased in frequency and severity until it was necessary to restart my machine 3 or 4 times before it would run. After trying everything I could think of, I uninstalled Webroot Spy Sweeper on Sunday 9/23/07 and BINGO, no further problems.

Today I called Webroot customer service to cancel my subscription and ask for a refund and was told very curtly that no refund would be given.

My computer finally had to be wiped to restore operation and when I tried it in my laptop afterwards it became a virus that locked up my laptop until removed!!! thirty bucks down the toilet!!!

I am a software tech-
1. I Disable the "!Memory Shield!", Favourites, & "!Ad Sites!" shields-
they are BAD Resource Hogs (really slow surfing!)!
a. Do daily COMPLETE "Custom (& enable Rootkit...!)" scans (about 6min.+- , & defrag, if slow!).

2. I had nothing but BAD problems with SSP's new v5.5... (MANY others do too!)! My solution!-
I requested a download link from SSP support, for their previous "Rock Solid...!" v5.3.2.2361 (do not EVER download pgm updates, JUST auto-definitions...!)!
a. Supposedly similar detection rates...?- Just not Vista ready.
