This product is quiet, low heat output and has a small footprint. The only thing I would improve on this is the seek time. It could be a bit faster. But, for the money, this is an excellent buy.

I bought this piece of junk for about $200. I just wanted to do a simple backup of my other extrernal hard drive. First install of the software wiped out my computer. I went to another computer and installed the upgrade, which is free, but it will not take your "key" number. So you have to uninstall it, put the original version in and then upgrade. Only one problem, you can't uninstall the upgrade. This horrible thing will not back up file with long file names, PERIOD. It comes formatted fat32, right. So you have to reformat it. How long do you think it would take to back up 170gb to this 1t? Try 4 days and counting with over 300 errors. I will try to call customer "support". But as we all know, you're lucky if you get a person that has a fundemental grasp of the English language. I'll be on hold forever and none will have a clue on how to fix the problem. If you're looking for new and inventive ways to develop headaches, this tool is perfect.
