Works Great [Posted on 2008-03-01] My hardrive crashed and I looked to HP and they had a new one for only $639 - a little steep. I bought this product and it is faster and the installation was a snap without a problem. I highly recommend it if you want a hardrive that is faster than the original with a larger capacity and a fraction of the HP cost.
GREAT drive, made better by LOW price!! [Posted on 2008-03-31] Funny thing is I have a DELL 600 series too. This drive is great, whisper quiet, and fast access (compared to old drive). Slid right in my DELL 600 laptop, NO PROBLEMS at all. ANYONE can replace this drive, well maybe not anyone, but MOST. Software is another issue, no problem for me as I have installed innumerable operating systems, but for the lay-user this may pose more of a problem. If your old drive still boots and works you can get a kit to make this new drive a USB drive and copy your whole "old" hard drive onto it before you physically install it, this is great stuff. Although for those of you starting from scratch, all went well during my formatting and OS install, seems to run fast and quiet, like I said. Oh, did I mention it's 3x the size of my original disk? NICE!!! (Ô¿Ô) One small caveat, my DELL and I'm sure other brands, has specific hardware that may be hard to find drivers for, so if at all possible (as was in my case), copy your DELL (other company) specific hardware drivers before your old drive dies. I used a USB flash drive, they are great for this type of thing....
Real Quiet, Runs Fine [Posted on 2008-06-12] Replaced the original 70GB drive in the Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with this one after the original one got flakey. Immediately noticed it ran much quieter than the original drive. Most of the time you just don't hear it. Subjectively it also may run a bit cooler based on how hot the bottom of the computer gets. Has been running with no hiccups or bad sectors for 2 months now. Good drive so far.
Works with my Dell Inspiron 6000 [Posted on 2008-06-16] I needed a replacement hard drive for my Dell Inspion 6000. I was looking at this one but wasn't 100% sure if this was ATA or SATA and couldn't tell from the title or description. My Dell requires an ATA hard drive and this did the trick. I'm very satisfied.
WD Notebook HD [Posted on 2008-07-01] HD arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Installation was a snap and HD worked instantly.
