Wonderful! [Posted on 2008-11-30] I love this product. I can store everything I want on here and take it off my computer. Transfering from the computer is so easy. And because it is 320GB I can put a lot on. I also can use it when I refomat my hard drive. I don't lose a thing. Wonderful product
Very reliable and portable [Posted on 2008-11-30] I have had this drive for about 6 months now and have even traveled with it to several countries (rugged), but it still works beautifully. I like that it is light and discrete as well, and also like the fact that it does not require an external power supply. Of course, the auto backup software is a plus!
Very good product, I love it [Posted on 2008-12-01] This is my first portable hard drive, it works very well and better than I expect. I hope the speed of access can be faster, but definitely not too bad. The shinny surface is easy to get the scraches.
Otherwise, it is a very good thing to own, light weight, pocket size, decent capacity, and no separate power needed, etc.
The applications that come w/ the drive not very useful.
Horrible customer service [Posted on 2008-12-01] As I had just spent hours transferring about 300GB of Data into the new drive, It just stopped working and stopped being recognized by both my MacBook, which is brand new, and my PC. Ok, this stuff happens from time to time, but Western Digital has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced as an owner of tons of different electronics. After bugging me on the phone for about an hour with stupid questions and requests (plug it and try this and that, etc...), they finally accepted the obvious fact that the product was defective, and told me to ship it to them AT MY OWN expense to send me back a REFURBISHED one. Conclusion, I ended up paying more than the cost of a new drive and ended up with a refurbished one. It works fine but I will question the reliability every time I use it and ended up keeping my old (non-portable) hard drive as a back up of my back up. Rock on, WD!
Great little hard drive [Posted on 2008-12-01] This attractive little hard drive is speedy and sleek. I can take it with me everywhere. Perfect for storing tons of music and personal files to take to work with you just in case.
