Customer Reviews:

Alot of bells and whistles...... [Posted on 2008-03-08]
.....as far as the inputs go. Composite, HDMI, RCA, S-Video, Audio....are you kidding? The only thing lacking is DVI. Need an HDMI to DVI cable. DON'T get one at a retail store (30-60 bucks), order from Amazon. I got a 10 foot for 10 bucks. Anyway, it has speakers built in, which actually sound descent for general TV. Don't go thumpin' 2PAC, they aren't built for that! Wish it had as remote as well. I plan on using it primarily for a monitor and as an added bonus, going to hook up my cable box and use it as a TV in the bedroom. The picture is great and the price is great, would recommend. Oh, one hint, I just bought this thing tonight at Best Buy for 350, Amazon is selling for over 450, so shop around.

Good value [Posted on 2008-04-03]
I bought a pair of these babies and I am very happy with them. A nice set of inputs, very clear, the controls seem intuitive enough to me (despite some other's opinions on that), and reasonable price point. At first I found them too bright, so I turned the brightness down to a value of 50. The next day I tied 30. A day or two later I took the setting down to 0, which seems the right level of brightness for me anyway. I wasn't looking to suntan in front of these things. ;-)

Great if you're not picky and new to medium-large LCD's [Posted on 2008-04-29]
I got a couple of these L2410NM monitors, and have been very pleased with them.

To make it clear, there IS an HDMI input. There is NOT a DVI . There is also a VGA input, component / progressive scan input, standard RCA input and S-Video input.

I've used all the input connections, and only the HDMI input will continue to give you a blue screen if the PC is put to sleep (which is a shame).

I mostly use the monitor for doing large network Visio drawings and graphics work, and recently I dedicated one to become a media station connected to a spare PC running Windows Media Center. It works great for this purpose, but I had to fall back on the VGA input because it was too annoying to put the PC to sleep and still have the monitor turned on. I really couldn't tell the difference anyway in quality since I have the resolution turned down to 1280 x 768 in order to make web surfing visible from across the room.

The menus are classic Westinghouse with buttons you have to "feel for" along the right hand side. I really wish they would replace the buttons and make them easy to find and easily labelled. The menu system really isn't bad...it's having to work the menus by "feel" that sucks.

I've used it a lot for video games, TV, DVD's, and graphics work on the PC and I'm really pleased with what I got for the price.

The only actual "bug" is the blue screen when you use the HDMI signal when the PC is turned off.

Exceptional Value [Posted on 2008-05-12]
the $300USD 24" monitor market is alot more crowed than it used to be. Now you can find 24" LCD's from SOYO, ACER, and Westinghouse, among others. The specs on all will be very similar. The Soyo's have changed to the TN panels of late, removing any edge they had. For my 299 (sams club) My Westy has great color and brightness uniformity. Razor sharp text and no noticable motion blur. I love that it features the features I might use and doesn't waste money on ridiculous Monitor mounted USB 1.0 ports or equally slow card readers. What it does have is a myriad of inputs for a PC Monitor. Great for hooking up your PC via HDMI (a DVI to HDMI Adaptor will cost about 5 bucks) and still being able to hook up cable and component video from a DVD player/game console. Great picture, attracive bezel, and lots of inputs. Subjectively picture is definitely as good as my Dell 2007FPW. I would assume this is a TN panel, but it looks quite good from off center.

The cons? Well, the stand doesn't offer height adjustment. How much of a problem this is will depend on you. It's a total non-issue for me. Some feel that they should have included a HDMI to DVI connector. The connectors are cheap ([...]) and I'm happy they put the money into the extra connections. The Soyo of the same price has only a single DVI connection.

In Conclusion, I'm sure you can get a better monitor. But I imagine for the price you could buy 2 of these. And if, like me, you use your monitor to look at, as a portal to your computing experience, I can't think there's much room for improvement.

Awesome monitor with multiple interfaces! [Posted on 2008-05-22]
I was looking for a small form LCD television for my home office, but the prices for smallish 19" thru 24" were expensive running from $300 for a small 19" screen to $499 for a 24" LCD. Not inspired I decided to check out the computer monitors/LCDs which of course do not come with a tuner and found much better prices points from the likes of Viewsonic, Samsung and Westinghouse. Since I have a digital box from my cable provider I realized that I didn't need a tuner since the digital box is a tuner. However, I then would need a computer monitor that would accept either an HDMI or Component inputs! Well, low and behold the only monitor with such connection points was this Westinghouse. And, the price ($299 at Sams) was even sweeter for me. I must say while I type this review I'm watching a full 1080i HD channel from my box to the Westinghouse and now I find myself not getting much work done. Plus I did not have to buy any speakers which are built into this LCD as well. While not stereo busting they are perfect for what I needed them to do.

Oops, did I forget to mention the exterior finish is very very nice indeed. With a black piano finish and an eye catching (not distracting) lower clear bezel with a small blue colored LED light illuminating the "W" logo makes for a pleasing appearence as well. I have the following LCD's and Plasmas to compare this with (Samsung 42" Plasma, iMac 24", Vizio 32" LCD, and a Dell Ultra Sharp 24" LCD) and this Westinghouse compares very well.
