Awesome Display, Affordable Price [Posted on 2008-02-29] I'm continuing to become more and more of a fan for the new Westinghouse displays.
At the price point, for a basic PC monitor (or other DVI/VGA application) there are few monitors that will give you a great picture and a minimal cost. The only caveat I can even stretch to think of is the lack of other inputs that previously were available in older (but, to be fair, slightly more expensive) models.
Feature wise, the monitor is basic and focuses on doing its intended function well. The display is crisp and bright... and most important with an LCD, it is consistent. No bright and dark spots, good blacks, and reliable.
The lack of inputs for the price is negligible, as most looking for a PC monitor are going to use it as a PC monitor. I can't in good conscience dock a star for that.
Westinghouse continues to impress with their low-cost, high-performance monitors.
On a personal note, after cycling through LGs, Samsungs, and others, I'm very confident in backing this "lower cost" brand. This was my second Westinghouse (replacing an older one that became a bedroom "television") and eased me into my decision to jump on a 42" LCD HDTV from them. All three were less costly as the LG and Samsung alternatives that perform on an even (or worse) level.
What A Great Affordable Monitor! [Posted on 2008-03-18] I love this monitor! Even though specs say 700:1 contrast ratio,
The box has it clearly written that this is a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The W2 version was 700:1 This is the W3 version at 1000:1.
No swivel but does tilt. So what?
I love it.
LCD Monitor [Posted on 2008-04-25] The picture is huge and pretty great. The speakers are some of the worst I've ever heard - you'll definitely want to buy a speaker system to hook up with it.
Read before you buy!! [Posted on 2008-05-02] Things you should know about this monitor
1. Resolution and color depth is really poor. Watching DVD's on this monitor are practically impossible, all the people are RED and black. Its obviously not the DVD as I have a DVD player at home hooked up to a TV. The issue is not the brightness and contrast on the monitor as I have tried that as well.
2. My monitor now has a wonderful WHITE line in the middle of the screen. The one issue is my monitor is 2 years old, but still this white line means I am going to have to throw this away. I initially paid 400.00 for it and now i really regret it.
3. Please read point #1. I love watching movies on my computer, but I can't because of color depth.
Nice Quality Picture [Posted on 2008-10-09] I bought this on sale for 164.00 during Thanksgiving last year. For that price this is an awesome 22" monitor. Colors are nice as well the blacks.
