Excellent choice [Posted on 2008-09-30] Money saver. You'll never buy batteries anymore. It charges the controllers extremely fast. Definitive a must buy for Wii owners
Works great, great support from Nyko [Posted on 2008-09-30] I recommend this as it is much better than regular batteries and helps keep the units charged up and ready to go. Support seems good from Nyko too. This worked great for a few months and then I had a problem with one of the controller's batteries. It wouldn't charge up or stay lit up when on the charger. I called the company, they took the item back no questions asked (the battery that is) and sent out another replacement very quickly.
I was impressed that the turn around time to get a replacement battery was so short.
Not worth it [Posted on 2008-10-04] Bought this when first got my Wii but it failed after 3 months. I spent a little more and bought the other recharging station that lets me charge the remote through the sleeves and that works much better. Plus the battery life lasts longer on that one.
Junk [Posted on 2008-10-05] Bought this and one of the batteries would never connect/charge with the unit. I would say we simply received a defective battery except the other battery is hit and miss while charging. And yes, the cord is out of the way. I think I'll stick to rechargeable AA batteries.
A great addition, but a few tweaks away from perfection [Posted on 2008-10-05] I'm much happier with the charge station over endlessly swapping out batteries in the Wii controllers, but there are a few minor tweaks I would make to the next revision:
1. Add a groove in the center of the remote cradle for the hand strap to rest. I can still charge with the handstrap attached, but it's a more tenuous way to place the charger in the dock. If I get bored one day a Dremel tool can fix that issue quickly :)
2. I don't use skins for my Wii controllers, but apparently they don't work well with the charge station. I wonder if creating the station to accommodate the skins and then having some snap-in sleeves for the naked controllers would work.
