over rated [Posted on 2007-02-13]
when you switch to the 360 live you have to pay more money to do so. just buy the 360 card and have no problems like i did.

does what it should [Posted on 2007-02-21]
did what it was supposed to do, got me back on live.

Still worth it, even with 360 out. [Posted on 2007-09-13]
First of all, this was sent to me within like 3 days which was awesome. Anyway, getting Live is defienatly still worth it even though the 360 has been out for so long. The only game I play online is Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate but going by that game alone the community on regular x=box is still strong. I never have to wait for a game, there are always people on to play against.

If you don't have the money for a 360, or just find it overrated, I'd advise getting a Live account on your x-box.

Beware of XBox Gold subscription Pre-paid cards!!! [Posted on 2009-01-02]
If you have trouble with your XBox gold account, Microsoft will NOT be able to refund you the subscription price if you enrolled via a pre-paid card. For this reason, I would highly recommend purchasing the subsription online. Also, be aware of setting the account up in your child's name. Doing so will limit your ability to play EA Games online (including basic sports games like Madden and NHL) and once your account is set-up as a Child account, Microsoft will NOT change it to an adult account. I set an account up in my child's name thinking that this would be the right way to do it and that I could monitor usage via parental controls, but what I learned is that once you sign up as a child, you are locked and can make no adjustments. This severely limits your ability to play EA games (possibly others) online. Adding fuel to the fire is the pre-paid card - there is no way for Microsoft to cancel and credit your account (even if you won't be able to use it)
