Talking Cash Register [Posted on 2007-12-27] This is a pretty cool toy. Comes with play money (coins and bills), credit card and bar-code stickers. Pros: The ability to scan the credit card through the slot seems to be the most fun. Each time you scan it the cash register calls out a dollar amount. Opening and closing the register was also a big hit. Cons: The microphone cord is way to short. You must by face-to-face with the register to use the microphone; nevertheless, this feature is fun. The bar-codes, which are meant to stick onto various items, don't scan so well. Overall, this product is very enjoyable; maybe on the pricey side @ $39+, but still fun.
Nice register for the money [Posted on 2008-01-09] Although the gift was for my 5 year old, my 2 older boys love playing with it as well. UPC codes could be better quality, and I don't know that they actually have an assigned amount. speaker is clear and the microphone works well.
Great item! [Posted on 2008-01-19] My 4 year old son received this for Christmas and has had a great time with it. It has really increased his curiosity about money and what each piece is called. We put the bar code stickers on different grocery items which he loves to scan and have us purchase. Although, I think the our grocer gets a better deal most of the time when it comes to giving us back change!! The quality of the register and the money is really nice and they were generous with the amount of money provided. I would definitely recommend this!
Good for the price [Posted on 2008-11-17] Pros: kids like the scanning stickers and play money. they like the microphone too. Overall, a sturdy and easy to use product. Cons: VERY MINOR--stickers don't want to stay where you put them. We saved boxes and cans from our kitchen. Had to put clear tape over them to stick, but then we were fine. Then, we were good to go!
Not impressed [Posted on 2008-12-23] I bought this product for my 8 yr old niece but when I opened the box I almost immediately decided to send it back. The construction of the toy seemed very sloppy. The stickers were not placed neatly on the toy and just from the look of it, it didn't seem very durable.
I did return it and was immediately credited for my purchase including the shipping price, which I did appreciate. Customer service was very good.
