Worst Software Ever [Posted on 2005-12-14] I have never had such trouble with "professionaly" written software. I am no novice to computer software but, I could NOT get this to install. No manual was provided, online tech support was useless, and to talk to a person about your problem you have to pay $50. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
the WORST software in the world !! [Posted on 2005-12-29] many problems came with this stupid thing:
1) first the installation didn't work out right.
2) then the CODE wouldn't work even though I typed it in correctly several times.
3) for a BIG box, the thing didnt even come with a manual!
This product is a terrible waste of money. And someone should sue the company b/c it's being sold out there and it's not being put to any use. Software like this should be banned from the market. And I could go on about how much I hate this product, but I think you already know not to buy it.
Terrible Software, Service - Big Hypocrites [Posted on 2006-01-05] This company is just awful. They claim to block pop up ads yet they generate a pop up ad every time to boot your computer. How to turn this off? They do not and will not tell you.
What's more, they DO NOT respond to email service requests even though they send you a canned response that they will get back to you within two days.
Finally, try to remove this piece of s**t. This is worse than a root kit.
I will never buy software from this company again and neither should anyone else - either a consumer or business. How can you trust anyone like this?
You think the executives and management at this company use their own software? They probably donate it to third world countries or Goodwill for hefty tax credits.
Call them eHypocrite, not eTrust.
i would give it a zero if i have the choice [Posted on 2006-01-09] Pro: NONE
Con:
-the AntiVirus in this suite is worse than a 5 years old outdated AV. it can detect viruses but can't delete them when it fails to clean or quarantine them.
-the firewall is outdated compare to ZoneAlarm (they use the same TrueVector engine, but different version).
return it if you still have the chance.
Don't know what their problem was... [Posted on 2006-06-05] I don't know about the other reviewers issues with this product, but I have no major complaints. (After I bought it, the program needed a upgrade) I was a faithful Mcafee user until I changed to broadband internet service about ten years ago. The service was not compatible to the software at the time so I switched to Norton and used that company until two years ago. I eventually switched to eTrust and I have not had any major issues like what was left. It stopped the viruses that attacked my system like it was supposed to, it blocked what I told it to do, and the file size is extremely small (Norton was 15x the file size). For the choices I had, I am completely satisfied with this product. Those who I know switched to this product have not had any issues either. By the way, when you guys completely remove Norton from your systems, let me know how since I still have embedded software that I could not remove without using XP manager. I have a brang new copy of Mcafee that gave me a massive headache when I tried to install it to two different computers. I am no slouch when it comes to fixing computers so I can honestly say that I would not endorse a product if I did not believe it was useful.
