This will save your dying AGP machine... [Posted on 2008-01-25] I bought this card about 6 months ago. My 3DMark score tripled from when I had my Radeon 9800. Half Life 2, BF2, Call of Duty 2, everything looks great. I'm running HL2 at 1152x864 plus all settings on high and 2xAA, smooth as silk. I recently tried the Bioshock demo and even that ran smoothly with all settings on high. World in Conflict and Company of Heroes also look absolutely marvelous. The Forceware drivers are a HUGE improvement over ATI's Catalyst. Make sure to use Forceware drivers though, I tried the new Beta drivers to stop Bioshock from crashing(got the idea in another forum) and it only made things worse by causing almost every other game to crash. But the drivers are great. No more stutter in HL2, no more problems with my 5.1 sound, everything runs great! One note though, this card is rather large, I would guess about 9 inches long, so make sure you have space. Also you need at least a 400W power supply, I recommend a 500W or above(I have a 550W PSU). Some people complain about noise with this card but I found it to be quieter than my 9800! It's drowned out by my PSU and CPU fans, which aren't very loud mind you. While this card won't make your machine like new, it'll definitely boost your performance(provided your memory and processor are decent) and I highly recommend it. This card has made sure that I'll never buy ATI again.
