Customer Reviews:

Works fine [Posted on 2007-01-02]
I have no complaints about this card. I primarily bought it for its S-VIDEO output, and have no real use for any of its 3D capabilities. Thus, it is probably overkill for my purposes, but it is hard to find cheaper cards than this. If your requirements match mine, then you really can't go wrong. The only problem I have is that there are no free drivers for Linux.

Great for DirectX 9.0 [Posted on 2007-01-05]
If you need to upgrade an older computer to support directX 9.0 - like if your kids want to play computer games like spongebob or pixar cars etc - this is the card for you. This is the cheapest one I could find that would support directX 9.0. Any windows operating system from 98 on up will support directX but if your hardware doesn't support it - you're out of luck.

GeForce video card [Posted on 2007-01-09]
Works just fine. I don't have any heavy video usage. Handles everything I need it to handle.

TV Out does not work, nView dual Monitor does not either [Posted on 2007-01-25]
I bought this card for 2 reasons

1) The TV - Out via S-Video
2) The nView Dual monitor output

I was disappointed on both fronts. The TV out "autoconfigures" itself via the truly awful new nVidia Control Panel which set everything to the wrong settings and will not let you change them. Once in the "Classic" view via Display Properties as usual you can change the settings to get a semblance of a picture which is in blurry Black and White. This is a known issue apparently judging from discussion groups on the net. I solved this by getting an S-Video to composite converter (for another $25...) which gave a blurry colour picture which was wholly unsatisfactory.

The nView does not seem to split the output correctly and will not detect the second dispay. Maybe the nView is only for dual display over a monitor and a TV or maybe there is some incantation to make it work but on the whole I couldn't be bothered and went to Best Buy to get a branded version of the GeForce 7600 which works perfectly. Get what you pay for I suppose.

Perfect for an older pc without spending a lot [Posted on 2008-01-05]
This basic video card was the perfect upgrade for my older pc that came with onboard video. I needed a video card to run some games newer than the pc, but of course this is not for the newest games. Normally I do web surfing and basic digital image editing and I'm not upgrading the whole pc yet. After several months it continues working great. I ordered an almost-new item from a private Amazon seller and it arrived exactly as described.
